Last night we had the great pleasure to award scholarships to a group of outstanding military dependents! Please join us in congratulating them and in thanking our Lackland Thrift Shop employees and volunteers whose hard work earns us the funds we use to award these scholarships each year.

The LSC Board would also like to give very special thanks to our Scholarship Chair, Amy, for coordinating the application collection, awards process, and ceremony planning all while navigating a PCS!

We're still looking for a new scholarship chair! Interested? Shoot us a message! We'd love to bring someone onboard ASAP.

Other board positions that will be open for the 2026-2027 year: Vice President, Treasurer, PR, Social Chair, Membership Chair, and Fundraising. Reach out if you are moving to JBSA Lackland this summer or if you've been here a while and are looking to get involved in a great organization!

Military life is doing its thing, and our wonderful scholarship director has orders! 😭 So we're looking for someone to take over her spot on the board this spring, and hopefully remain in the position through the next board year. Please see the attached graphic for details and how to apply.

Today, we wear purple to show military-connected children they’re seen, supported and celebrated.

Across the country and around the world, these kids show up — in classrooms, on teams and in their communities — bringing strength, adaptability and heart wherever they go.

Wearing purple is a simple way to stand behind them, across every branch.

Whether they’re part of military life for a moment or their entire childhood, they deserve to feel the support of the community around them.
