We are a cancer support group made of cancer survivors, caregivers, family, friends, volunteers and donors. We do our best to help one another by giving each other hope, love, strength, encouragement and do it all with an open heart. Our donations are used for planned events intended for families affected by cancer. We welcome anyone affected by any type of cancer. We don't turn anyone away. Our g

roup stands by one another in good times and in bad ones too. Nothing will help us pull through but through the love of one another. Our annual events include an annual plate sale in which proceeds go towards our annual Thanksgiving Dinner for families affected by cancer, to our annual Christmas Party for children affected by cancer, our annual Toy Drive and our annual Toy Delivery to our local hospitals to children battling cancer. Our newly event next year will be visiting children with cancer in our local hospitals to deliver Easter Baskets. "My name is Debra L. Rivas, Founder of C.I.O.C. I am a single mother of two handsome boys. I am a widow twice, losing two husbands to (ALL) Acute Lymphoma/Leukemia (1997) & Kidney Cancer (2000). In 2010, I became a Uterine Cancer Survivor and in 2016, I beat Thyroid Cancer too. I've lost two siblings to cancer and many other family members & friends. Cancer is my #1 enemy and for that reason, I have become a strong advocate against cancer. And by forming this group is a way of me continuing my fight against cancer by helping others who don't know what direction to go too or how to start the fight. And for that reason alone, we also have a 24/7 hotline phone number so anyone can call us at anytime during their fight against cancer. Cancer just messed around with the wrong person....Me, and I will continue to fight it & reach out to others as long as I live"

Tomorrow evening, Dr. Trey Jones, Radiation Oncologist at San Antonio Cancer Center, will lead a discussion on managing treatment side effects, radiation therapy options, and the latest advancements in prostate cancer care. Whether you're newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, or a survivor, this is a welcoming opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others.
