Our Young Marines Birthday Ball was a great success. Thank you so much to April Westerlund and Shannon Smotherman for coming in early to help with set up. And thank you XO Alexia Salas for running our other event that morning so I could tend to set up. The team all worked well together to make it all happen and we had a great night of fun and fellowship. And we were honored to be in the presence of our guest of honor and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Derek "Dirk" Maurer! What an amazing couple!

A little late but wanted to give a quick shout out to Division 1 Young Marines for hosting the TEEX training last month. And to our YM/LCPL Westerlund for traveling the distance to attend. He came back from the event excited and full of knowledge! He had a great time learning new skills with some old friends.

An amazing night last night at the Legacy Land Foundation Guardian Gala. The mission these folks have is an incredible one and we were so honored to be there and be a part of their fundraising event. It was a blessing to hear their stories and how they all feel about their mission. The passion that surrounds this foundation is incredible. And a live performance of artistic talent by Michael Israel Inc touched hearts in a way so unspeakable. What a blessing to shake his hand and watch him work. But as always, im still the biggest fan of our colorguard teams right here at the San Antonio Young Marines! You kids did a fabulous job last night and I am so very proud of you all!

My colorguard team tonight, I cannot even begin to tell you how incredibly proud I am of you! When things didnt fall the way they were planned at an event tonight (not because of anything we did...it was related to the facility), you 4 showed up, showed off, adapted and overcame! So many people came up and told me how impressed they were at how yall improvised and made everything work out! So very proud of you, YM/GYSGT PETROSKY, YM/LCPL WESTERLUND, YM/PFC PLANK, AND YM/PVT ESCARENO!👏👏👏

Today we got to share part of our morning with the Castle Hills Police Department and honor them with a gift basket full of drinks, snacks, and thank you cards. We are so thankful for the people who serve our community and help strengthen us as a whole.

Yes....Pogey Bait WAS given at recruit training!!! 😋 The Young Marines were challenged to research the Navajo Code Talkers and bring back 3 facts they learned. 1 recruit stepped up to the challenge. Congratulations, Recruits Ruggles, on your success in this challenge! Thank you AV Westerlund for providing both the incentive challenge and the award!
