☀️🔥 SUMMER SAFETY IN SOUTH TEXAS 🔥☀️

The South Texas summer heat can be extreme, and it only takes a few minutes for a fun day outdoors to become a dangerous situation. Bexar County ESD No. 2 wants to remind everyone to take simple precautions to keep yourself, your family, and your neighbors safe.

✅ Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
✅ Limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours (10 AM – 4 PM).
✅ Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults in a vehicle — not even for a minute.
✅ Practice water safety and always supervise children around pools, lakes, and rivers.
✅ Grill safely and keep outdoor cooking equipment away from structures and dry vegetation.
✅ Be aware of fire danger and follow local burn bans and restrictions.

Know the signs of heat-related illness:
⚠️ Dizziness
⚠️ Headache
⚠️ Excessive sweating or lack of sweating
⚠️ Nausea or vomiting
⚠️ Confusion or altered mental status

If someone is experiencing a heat emergency, move them to a cool area, provide water if they are conscious, and call 9-1-1 immediately.
