When you are part of PTA, you have access to resources on topics ranging from childhood

obesity to bullying to talking with your child about drugs and alcohol. PTA is a great resource not only for your school and community but also for you as you navigate the parenting process. Make connections. Whether you attend PTA meetings and events or just link in via e-mails and newsletters, through PTA you’ll connect with others who share your concern for children and their education. PTA is a way to meet others and build relationships. Hone your skills. In PTA you’ll have the opportunity to use what you know, try new things, and develop your skills. PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas. Your membership can be a means to effectively suggest changes at your child’s school and to be involved in making them happen. Through PTA you can be a more effective advocate for your child and all children. Be part of the solution. PTA has been a driving force in establishing school lunch programs, after school programs, community wide safety initiatives, TV and Internet rating standards, and more. You can play a part in improving the world for your child. Be a role model for your child. Through your involvement in PTA, not only will you help your child and all children receive a better education but you’ll show your child how much you value education. You also will teach your child about giving back to the community.

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 15, the North East ISD Board of Trustees officially named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent of Schools.

“He has worked tirelessly to really propel our District forward and has really done it with a singular focus with student success in mind,” said NEISD Board President David Beyer. “We thank him for what he’s done and we are really looking forward to the things he has yet to accomplish.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett thanked the board and our community for their trust.

“Thank you, the board, for entrusting me with this opportunity. I want to thank the families in our community for allowing us to serve their children,” said Jarrett. “Change is inevitable, but if we all pull in the same direction and we all stay grounded into our ‘why’ and our purpose, I really believe our schools will excel. Our schools will be even better for years to come.”

The board named Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for the role during a special meeting on May 18, which began the state-mandated 21-day waiting period before officially naming Jarrett to the position permanently.

Summer Feast is a District-wide event being held in the Roosevelt cluster and it’s open to all families. Ed White Middle School is the hosting site. Attached is the event flyer.

It’s NBA Finals game day in San Antonio, and we’re celebrating an NEISD alum who once wore the Silver and Black! 🏀🔥

MacArthur High School Class of 1978 graduate Keith Edmonson first made his mark as a standout Brahma before continuing his basketball journey at Purdue, becoming an NBA first-round draft pick, playing for the San Antonio Spurs, and earning a spot in the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

As the city rallies behind the Spurs tonight, we're proud to recognize an NEISD graduate who once represented both MacArthur and San Antonio on the court. Go Spurs Go!

Last but certainly not least, the Class of 2026 from International School of the Americas (ISA) is ready to turn the tassel! 🎓

Today’s graduation by the numbers highlights the hard work, achievements, and milestones this senior class has reached throughout their journey at NEISD. We are proud to celebrate them at tonight's graduation ceremony, taking place at Trinity University's Laurie Auditorium.
