The San Antonio Nursing Consortium is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Best 25 Nurses of South Central Texas!

This recognition celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in their commitment to patient care, leadership, innovation, and service to their communities.

We all know nurses who inspire us through their compassion, dedication, mentorship, and contributions to the profession. This is an opportunity to recognize the impact they make every day.

Nominations are open through October 31, 2026.

Nominees will be recognized at the awards ceremony on December 12, 2026.

Nominations may be submitted by patients, colleagues, physicians, administrators, or anyone who has witnessed the extraordinary impact of a nurse.

From the first moments of uncertainty to lifesaving interventions, emergency nurses bring clinical expertise, compassion, and calm to some of the most critical moments in healthcare.

As critical care nurses, we recognize the vital partnership between emergency and critical care teams. Together, we advocate for our patients, support one another, and deliver exceptional care when every second matters.

Every Voice. Every Story. Every Table, In Action! 💙

What a wonderful day of learning, collaboration, and connection at the 2026 San Antonio Nursing Consortium Annual Patient Safety Conference: The Value of Nursing: Driving Patient Safety Through Collaborative Care.

The San Antonio Chapter of AACN was proud to serve as one of the co-hosting organizations, with a strong presence from our chapter members and Board throughout the conference.

We were especially proud to have three San Antonio AACN members sharing their expertise and their voices as presenters: Annierose Abogadie, Susan Loyola, and Nelson Tuazon. Their presentations reinforced an important message heard throughout the day: nurses have a powerful voice in improving patient safety, influencing practice, and shaping the future of healthcare.

Several speakers challenged us to use our voices, share our stories, and take our seat at the tables where decisions affecting nursing and patient care are made. That message could not have aligned more closely with AACN President Tonka Williams’ theme for this year:

Every Voice. Every Story. Every Table.

We are also grateful for the tremendous turnout of our San Antonio AACN members and Board and for the opportunity to collaborate with nursing colleagues and professional organizations across our community. This is what professional nursing looks like when we come together, not only to learn, but to advocate, lead, collaborate, and improve care.

Thank you to the San Antonio Nursing Consortium, our fellow co-hosting organizations, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this conference such a success.

Our voices matter. Our stories matter. And nursing belongs at every table where decisions about patient care are made.

Honored to represent the San Antonio Chapter at NTI 2026 in San Diego! ☀️

Yesterday, our chapter leaders attended the Chapter Leadership Development Workshop (CLDW), focusing on leadership growth, chapter governance and strengthening the future of critical care nursing through collaboration and service.

We are especially proud to celebrate receiving the Circle of Excellence Award for Excellence in Chapter Community Education and Public Service, a reflection of the dedication, passion and impact of our incredible chapter members and volunteers. 🧡

Inspired by this year’s AACN theme, On Purpose, we look forward to bringing new ideas, leadership strategies and energy back to our local critical care community.
