 it is with great sadness that I let the unit know that one of our older clowns who has been not around for at least 10 years and is a past president, which makes him a emeritus member has passed away… His name was Dan “Bumper“ Medina. He was a member of Dave Crockett Lodge here in San Antonio, Antonio and help make this unit outstanding in the past. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers and please let me know if you hear anything else and if somebody can find an obituary. I’ll be happy to post it.

Just moments before the Alzafar September Stated Meeting, the air is thick with the scent of spirit gum, hairspray, and pure, unfiltered laughter. While the rest of the Nobles adjust their fezzes and double-check the evening’s agenda, the Alzafar Clown Unit is engaged in a very solemn tradition of their own: relentless, good-natured ribbing.

There are hilarious and silliness pre-meeting minutes so they say beneath their fez’s. The roars of laughter (OK SNIKERING) filling the terrace area aren't just pre-meeting warmups; they are the genuine bond of brothers who share a deeply heartwarming mission.

As the final call to order approaches as evidence of Alzafar Divan, the playful chaos seamlessly transforms into proud, synchronized camaraderie. They might be stepping into a formal business meeting, but the Alzafar Clowns always make sure to bring the heart, humor, and infectious fun along with them.

Participating in the 2026 Kendall County Fair Parade was an absolute blast from start to finish!

There is nothing quite like making our way through charming Boerne, Texas, surrounded by such incredible community energy. Seeing the lively crowds lined up along the street—from starry-eyed young kids waving proudly to parents and grandparents soaking in the fun—made the entire morning unforgettable.

That warm, welcoming spirit is what makes our small country town feel like home.

We are already looking forward to making more memories together next year!

Today, we say goodbye to the legendary Tim Curry, whose extraordinary talent brought some of science fiction, fantasy, and horror’s most unforgettable characters to life. From Dr. Frank-N-Furter and the Lord of Darkness to his many iconic roles across film and television, his performances inspired generations and will continue to live on across worlds. Rest in peace, Tim Curry. Your remarkable legacy will never be forgotten.

Alright folks, get ready to smile (or maybe cringe) because we just added twenty brand new faces to the Alzafar Shrine family during the 2026 Ceremonial! Our legendary NEMNUF unit of clowns gave them a truly... memorable welcome, ensuring they understand that 'serious business' at the Shrine always involves a healthy dose of shenanigans. As the photographer, I’ve never seen so many grown men look both terrified and absolutely thrilled at the same time; it made for some fantastic action shots!
