disABILITYsa remembers RJ Mitte, actor, philanthropist, and disability rights advocate, who died at 34.

Known for playing Walter “Flynn” White Jr. on Breaking Bad, Mitte drew on his experience living with cerebral palsy to bring authenticity to his role. Beyond the screen, he used his platform to challenge stereotypes and promote greater representation for people with disabilities.

His commitment to disability inclusion connects with disABILITYsa’s work to advance access and participation in community life. We honor his contributions and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

San Antonio: Your voice matters in shaping housing choices!

For people with disabilities, affordable housing is only part of the picture. Accessible homes and proximity to public transit, jobs, healthcare and everyday services matter, too.

The City of San Antonio - Municipal Government’s Affordability Bonus Study survey asks for your input on housing affordability, housing types and new development. Your feedback can highlight disability-related needs and help inform possible changes to the City’s development code in 2027.

By participating, people with disabilities, families and caregivers can help the City understand why housing must be both affordable and accessible—and support opportunities to live independently in the community.
