When life gets difficult, the Marine Gunner Association is here to help.
Unexpected medical emergencies. Loss of income. Natural disasters. Family crises. Sometimes, life brings challenges that no one can prepare for.
The Marine Gunner Association Hardship Assistance Program provides one-time financial grants to qualifying members of the Marine Gunner community who are facing unexpected personal or family hardships.
This is assistance—not a loan. There is nothing to repay.
Applications are reviewed with confidentiality, respect, and a commitment to timely support. Our goal is simple: to make sure no Marine Gunner or their family has to face a difficult time alone.

🇺🇸 TODAY, WE CHECK IN. THIS MONTH, WE LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER. 🇺🇸

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, and September is Su***de Prevention Month.

For the Marine Gunner community, looking out for one another has always been part of who we are. Sometimes that means checking in with a fellow Gunner, veteran, family member, or friend who may be struggling.

Ask. Listen. Be there.

You don't need to have all the answers. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is let someone know they don't have to face a difficult moment alone.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

This month, let's remember: checking in isn't a weakness. Asking for help isn't a weakness. And standing beside someone who needs support is never a weakness.

🇺🇸 MGA DOWNEASTER 2026 IS ALMOST HERE! 🇺🇸
The countdown is on! Saturday, September 26 is the day to head to Pats’ Farm in La Grange, NC, for a day of shooting, fishing, food, and Marine Gunner camaraderie.
Whether you’re an active or retired Marine Gunner, a longtime member, or bringing the family along — come spend the day with the Gunner community!
🎯 SHOOTING
Steel target ranges for pistols & rifles + trap shooting
🎣 FISHING
2.5-acre bass pond + a prize for the biggest fish
🏆 PRIZES
Compete for biggest fish and best trap score
🍗 FOOD & DRINKS
Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q, water, sodas & beer provided. BYOB if you prefer something stronger!
🏕️ STAY THE NIGHT
Camping is welcome on site with porta johns, running water & electricity. Hotels are also available about 5 miles away in Kinston.

Marine Gunners—active and retired—and their guests are invited to join the Marine Gunner Association for a day of shooting, fishing, food, and fellowship at Pats’ Farm in La Grange, NC!

There’s something for everyone:
🎯 Shooting — Steel target ranges for pistols and rifles, plus trap shooting
🎣 Fishing — A 2.5-acre bass pond and a prize for the biggest fish
🏆 Prizes — Bring your skills and compete for biggest fish and best trap score
🍗 Dinner & Drinks — Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q, bottled water, sodas, and beer provided at no cost. BYOB if you prefer something stronger.
🏕️ Stay the night! Camping is welcome on site, with porta johns, running water, and electricity available. If camping isn’t your thing, Kinston is only about 5 miles away with plenty of hotel options.
More than anything, the Downeaster is about bringing the Marine Gunner community together—sharing knowledge, catching up with old friends, welcoming families, and strengthening the camaraderie that makes this organization special.

Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation and the freedoms that generations of Americans have defended through courage, sacrifice, and service.
As we gather with family and friends, let us remember those who have worn the uniform, those who continue to serve, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
