San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology Inspiring innovative minds through the exploration of the past, present and future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

SAMSAT is to become a world-class science center, an innovation incubator and home to a major collection of never-before-seen technological artifacts, a fascinating hub for today’s dreamers in San Antonio and beyond. We made the progressive decision to place all our artifacts in storage while we plan for our next new home. SAMSAT will explore the fascinating roots of technology we use every day, p

romoting STEM education for the high-skill jobs of our knowledge economy and increasing interest in science and tech careers. SAMSAT is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Return to our website and pages often to keep track of our progress!

Nothing quite like wrapping up summer camp with model rocket launches! Our young Aerospace Engineers executed 32 of 34 successful launches. And the other two reset and relaunched successfully! Nothing quite like seeing the students' faces when rockets launch!

🇺🇸⚡Join us this Saturday, July 4th, as we celebrate the precious legacy left by our Founding Fathers, built on by scientists, inventors and statesmen throughout our history! We're hosting a patriotic Tesla coil show celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, with a focus on the role science and democracy have played in our nation's history.
-
When people think about our Founding Fathers—Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Madison, and others—they think mainly about statesman. These men were statesmen and much more. Franklin, in particular, was a world-famous inventor. The image of Ben Franklin flying a kite, as an experiment in electricity, is iconic.

Less well known is Jefferson’s contribution. He had a special and deep interest in agriculture, applying scientific principles in his inventions. He deeply studied science and math, wrote about the relationship between science and democracy, founded the University of Virginia, and donated his library to the Library of Congress. You can hear the connection between science and democracy in his words, “the main objects of all science, the freedom and happiness of man.”

🥳Our 10 Year Anniversary week was a blast! Not only did we celebrated our birthday, we also want to highlight a few of our programs that we completed this week:

Starting off we wrapped up our 2025-2026 R20 Premier season with a 3 day event at the Scholastic Esports Championship hosted here at the Boeing Center at Tech port!

Next up, we hosted our 2026 SA Smart Finals and crowned our Middle School Bracket Champions,
Basis San Antonio - Shavano Campus | Scrappy - Affordable AI Recycling,
& our High School Bracket Champions,
Samuel Clemens Highschool Team | Eliminate AI-Assisted Emergency Dispatch!

Students in our Boeing STEM Academy Graduated by completing STEM coursework and engineering design mentorship from Boeing employees, which they were each awarded with a laptop!

Completing this week, we capped off with having us delivering our 21DISCOVERY™ program. The full experience includes a museum tour, scavenger hunt, and hands-on STEM lesson for up to 50 students.

Thank you for celebrating with us!
