Halloween is even better when we celebrate together! Join Respite Care of San Antonio for our annual Trunk or Treat, sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas!

Enjoy festive trunks, sweet treats, family-friendly fun, and a community resource fair where families can connect with local organizations and discover valuable services and support.

FREE Parent’s Day Out openings are available!

Respite Care of San Antonio is accepting enrollments for our Parent’s Day Out (PDO) programs, giving children a safe, nurturing space to learn, play, and grow while parents and caregivers get time to focus on other needs.

We have limited openings at two locations:

- Baptist Temple Church: Mondays and Wednesdays
- CHEST: Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning November 2, at 419 Lovette Ave.

CHEST, the Center for Health Empowerment in South Texas, is a community hub working to improve access to health and social services for families on San Antonio’s South Side.

Both programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old and are FREE thanks to competitive grants from the State of Texas!

Space is limited, so contact our Family Support Services team to learn more or enroll your child.

The 2026 Magic Garden Gala was our most attended Gala ever, and we couldn’t have done it without you! Despite the rainy weather, you came out to celebrate, support our mission, and help us grow hope for children with special needs and complex medical conditions and the families who care for them.

To everyone who joined us, sponsored the evening, donated, and helped bring the Magic Garden to life, thank you for showing up for the families who count on us. Your support makes it possible for us to provide compassionate care, strengthen families, and help children thrive.

Join us for our October Parent Session, “Building Trust Through Person-First Care, Authentic Validation, & Self-Advocacy,” presented by Practice Without Pressure by Power to Marc.

Practice Without Pressure teaches patients with disabilities, caregivers, and medical providers practical skills to make medical and dental procedures, haircuts, nail trims, and other challenging experiences more comfortable and respectful, without relying on physical restraint or sedation whenever possible.

- 12:00–1:00 p.m.
- Hybrid: In person + virtual

The presenter will offer a hands-on demonstration during the in-person session, while the virtual option makes it easier for parents and caregivers who can’t attend in person to participate.

Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or professional supporting someone with disabilities, this session offers practical tools for building trust, honoring communication, and supporting self-advocacy.
