Pardon my silence, I've been working on getting a laptop that will handle video editing.

IN THE MEANTIME, I got picked up in Iowa, drove down to San Antonio to pick up Joel Hernandez Prius as my next paint car. He's given me free reign over design and wants NO clues, so I'm keeping this one under wraps until I deliver it back to San Antonio for the reveal.

Before I get to the Prius, I need to gut the Troutback. When the torque converter was installed after checking the flex plate, it was only seated in the second position so when I drove it on the highway for the first time, the torque converter did one of two things. 1. It burned through the pump in the front of the CVT (which is what I'm hoping. There's no compression in the CVT) or 2. It ate the whoooooole CVT. I'll know next week when I rip into it.

A year ago, I brought my painting down to Galveston, TX, for the second time to work in the studio. Something about artist block...

Now, I can say that I used my carport for something most do with walls and fans and big air compressors. While I still may make excuses not to paint traditionally due to time restrictions or lighting or whaaaaaatever, I KNOW I just have to DO IT.

The circumstances will never be perfect, but even small action means more than inaction.

I know it's Phoebe's birthday when the peonies are in full bloom 🌱💐

My girl is seven! Phoebus is a special lady who has worked alongside me for years as an alert dog. She's reaching retirement age, but I'll be celebrating this ole girl with a solo hike (without her three other dog roommates), a spa day, and her favorite delicacy (a Love's hot dog).

Dogs and kids are two things you can always rely on to remind you of how to love again. How to be loyal again. How to persevere. Notice their excitement because most of us have lost ours and could use a but of reminding 😉

After a couple of sleepless nights, hours and hours and hours of hand sanding, and dedication to a three-year vision she's taken her maiden voyage.

Behind the scenes. The sun was peekng over my shoulder and glinting off of my 2x freshly sanded car. I was crouched over in the carport for the entire night, and I took this picture moment to stretch and appreciate all I'd done.

Today was tougher. I wish I realized I didn't have to hand sand.... two days sooner 😂

I'm so sorry to keep y'all waiting over at for a video! At the very least, I can absolutely promise you that you've never seen a rattlecan paint job like this before AND that she'll be 100% in the morning.

Thank you to everyone here in the early days... I've been humbled by the amount of people who are interested in my daily musings. I'm SO excited to see where this takes us in the future!

Gigantic THANK YOU to for working alongside me and kicking so much a** while he left me to try my hand at editing. I'm still rough, buuuut I think I'm getting the hang of this 😉

So I checked off "Build firepit in the backyard" of the To-Do list for the house. I got this done in a day with recycled materials I've collected in a pile since we've started renovations in Oct '25.

Happy birthday, Buff. Take care of the friends you have, y'all. Sometimes, all it takes is a day to really make a difference ✨️🎊✨️
