More than twice the national rate.

That's the teen birth rate in the Rio Grande Valley.

In 2024, the RGV rate was 26.0 births per 1,000 teens, 49% higher than the Texas average and more than twice the national rate.

Behind these numbers are young people, families, and communities. And the data reinforce why access to trusted, evidence-based health education still matters.
