The San Antonio (Alamo City) Chapter of Blacks In Government was formed in 1980. We are part of Region VI Council which has Chapters located in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. ers. The San Antonio Chapter is committed to promoting excellence in government through equity of opportunity. The broad organizational goals and objectives include advocating for diversity, developing and promoting programs, which will enhance ethnic pride, educational opportunities, and providing a non-partisan platform on major issues of local, regional, and national significance. San Antonio Chapter is strategically located within Southwest Texas corridor and cultivates a desire to succeed, stimulate personal development and professionalism, and continuously focuses on achievement of equality through opportunity.

The Junteenth Parade parade will take place on June 20th. It begins at 9 a.m. at Sam Houston High School, located at 4635 E. Houston Street, and travel through the city’s East Side before concluding at Comanche Park No. 2, located at 2600 Rigsby Avenue.
