Meet Moose! 🖤🐱

We just love hearing how our rescued kitties are doing after they find their forever homes—and Moose's story has us smiling! ❤️

Little Moose is a sweet black kitten who was recently adopted, and it sounds like he has already settled right into his new family.

His adopter shared:

❤️ “Moose is the sweetest kitten we have EVER adopted. He loves to pose for photos and show off his one white whisker. He is getting to know his older feline brother and loves to relax with his two canines, one of which was adopted through God's Dogs Rescue in 2018!”

How special is that? 🥰 Moose has not only found his forever family, but he's living with a family who already knows just how wonderful rescue pets can be!

And we absolutely LOVE that one of his canine siblings was adopted through God's Dogs Rescue back in 2018! What a wonderful rescue connection. 🐾❤️

And that one little white whisker? We have a feeling Moose knows exactly how handsome he is and loves showing it off for the camera! 😻

🎉 And a BIG "Congrats, Canines!" for National Dog Day! 🐶

Today we're celebrating our wonderful canine friends for National Dog Day! 🐶❤️

But around here, the kitties couldn't let the dogs have ALL the attention...

So allow me to introduce myself! 😸

💙 I'm Slate BD!

I'm a petite 3-month-old blue kitten with a BIG heart and a little adventurous spirit!

I'm already neutered and litter box trained, which means I'm pretty much ready to pack my tiny suitcase and move right into my forever home! 🧳🐾

I'm a gentle, playful guy who LOVES a good lap cuddle. Give me a comfy lap and some attention, and I'll happily settle in for some quality purr time. 💙

I'm also great with other cats! 🐱🐱

Now, I should tell you that I'm a little shy when we first meet. I like to take a moment to check you out and make sure you're trustworthy. But once I decide you're my person...

🐾 Tuesday Tips: Beware of Kissing Bugs! 🐾

💋 Kissing bugs aren't as sweet as they sound!

These blood-sucking insects can carry a parasite called Trypanosoma cruzi, which can cause Chagas disease in cats. Serious illness is uncommon in cats, but infection is possible.

🪲 What should you know?

Kissing bugs are most active at night and are attracted to lights.
They can hide in brush, woodpiles, and dark areas.
Cats can become infected through a bite or by catching and eating the bug.
Some infected cats may show no obvious signs of illness.

❤️ Protect your kitty!
✔️ Keep cats indoors, especially at night.
✔️ Remove brush, woodpiles and debris around your home.
✔️ Reduce bright outdoor lighting near pet areas.
✔️ Never handle a kissing bug with your bare hands.

🐱 If you notice unusual symptoms such as fever, weakness, extreme tiredness, or difficulty walking, contact your veterinarian.

A little prevention can help keep our kitties safe! ❤️🐾

❤️ Special Home Needed for a Very Special Girl ❤️

Sometimes the cats who need us the most aren't the ones who immediately climb into our laps.

We have a beautiful 4-year-old brown Siamese girl who came to us after being picked up by ACS with her kittens. Her babies are friendly, happy little kitties, but Momma is a different story.

This beautiful girl is spicy, frightened, and unsure of people. She cannot be held right now, and the world can still be a pretty scary place for her. But we don't believe that means she doesn't deserve a loving home. We believe she simply needs someone who is willing to give her time, patience, and the chance to learn that she is safe. 🐾

Since coming into rescue, she has been spayed and brought up to date on her vaccinations, so now we're hoping to find the special person who will take the next step with her.

🏡 We are looking for a patient, understanding adopter who doesn't expect an instant lap cat.

Someone who will let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Someone who understands that sitting quietly in the same room, offering treats, playing with a wand toy, or simply giving her a safe place to observe the world can be a huge step forward.

Maybe she will never be the type of cat who wants to be carried around.

And that's okay.

Maybe her way of saying "I love you" will be sitting beside you instead of on your lap. Maybe she'll eventually accept a gentle touch. Maybe she'll surprise us all.

What she needs most is someone willing to give her the opportunity to find out. ❤️

We are asking our rescue community:

🐾 Is there someone out there who would be willing to give this beautiful girl a chance?

We are willing to negotiate her adoption fee for the right person and the right application. This isn't about finding just anyone for her. It's about finding the person who understands that earning the trust of a frightened cat can be one of the most rewarding experiences there is.

If you have experience with shy, fearful, or unsocialized cats—or simply have a quiet home and a very patient heart—we would love to hear from you.

And if she isn't the cat for you, please share her story. Her person may be someone we haven't reached yet.

❤️ She doesn't need someone to fix her. She needs someone willing to show her that she is safe, loved, and finally home.

🏡🐾 Happy Tails Thursday: Double the Kittens, Double the Love! 🐾🏡

Some families aren't complete until a couple of rescued kittens come along. ❤️

When Beau found his forever home through God's Dogs Plus Kitties, his family had no idea another little rescue would soon steal their hearts.

A month later came Moxi.

Found as a stray and welcomed into GDR Kitties this past April, it didn't take long for this beautiful little tortie to find the perfect family—one that already included Beau. From the moment they met, these two became inseparable, filling their home with love, laughter, and plenty of kitten antics.

Their adopter says about Moxi:

"Moxi may have all the tortitude in the world, but she's also the cuddliest little shadow I could ever ask for. 🧡🖤🐾

Miss Moxi follows me everywhere I go, is always ready to curl up for snuggles, and has become my little best friend. She has the biggest personality wrapped up in the tiniest furry body, and I can't imagine life without her. 🤍"

And about Beau:

"Beau may look like a little troublemaker, but he's the sweetest big brother anyone could ask for. 🖤🐾

He's always looking out for his sister, Moxi. He loves his momma with his whole heart and is happiest when he's by my side. And while he only lets his dad hold him, you'll usually find the two of them hanging out together like best buddies. 🤍

He has the biggest personality, the sweetest soul, and has filled our home with so much love (and just a little bit of chaos). I can't imagine life without my handsome boy."

Finally, she shared these words that mean so much to all of us:

Sweet as Nilla, with a whole lot of personality! 😻

Hi there! I'm Nilla, a handsome 1-year-old white-point boy with an active body and a BIG personality!

I'm playful, curious, and full of energy. I love a good adventure and I'm always ready to show off my mischievous side when the mood strikes. 😸

But here's the best part about me…

I'm also a total lap kitty! ❤️

I may be independent and perfectly capable of entertaining myself, but when I want some love, I want to be right there with my people. Give me a lap, some attention, and a little affection, and I'll happily return the favor with plenty of love and loyalty.

I'm already neutered, litter box trained, and great with other cats, so I'm ready to find my forever family!

🐾 Tuesday Tip: Keep Your Cat's ID Information Up to Date! 🐾

Even indoor cats can slip out an open door, escape during a storm, or get scared and run. A microchip is one of the best ways to help make sure your kitty finds their way home. ❤️

But here's the important part: a microchip only works if your contact information is current!

If you've moved, changed your phone number, or adopted a pet whose microchip is still registered to someone else, take a few minutes to update the information.

🐱 Tuesday Tip:
Microchip your cat—and make sure that microchip is registered with your current phone number and address.

And don't forget a collar and ID tag when appropriate. The fastest way home is often the person who finds your kitty being able to call you immediately. 🏡❤️

A few minutes today could make all the difference if your beloved kitty ever gets lost. 🐾
