The Government Girls Club
Annual American Cancer Research Benefit Tea took place at the Second Baptist Fellowship Hall on April 12, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
We were privileged to have
Mrs. Veretta Anderson, RN, as our distinguished guest speaker.
A tribute was paid to our centenarian member, Mrs. Lillian Hunter.
Fashions were showcased by N-V-U Fashions & Boutique, Patricia Moore (enviousfashionsboutique.com).
We extend our gratitude to all attendees and donors for their generosity. Special thanks to our President Michelle Smith and her Cabinet and our dedicated Government Girls Club members for their unwavering support in the fight against cancer. May God continue to bless the Government Girls Club as they shine a light in our community and for this noble cause. Thank each of you who made this a huge success!

During our February Meeting, we honored Black History Month by welcoming several Black community leaders who are candidates in the 2026 Primary elections and have made and continue to make significant contributions to our communities. All shared such encouraging and enlightening information. As members of a civic club, Government Girls recognize that voting gives us the power to influence critical issues and strengthen our communities.
