We were so proud to see our Soy Latina Hermanitas celebrating National Latina Day at Basila Frocks! 💜🦋

Our Hermanitas had the opportunity to listen to inspiring Latina leaders share their journeys, the obstacles they faced while pursuing their careers, and the importance of uplifting and supporting one another.

Moments like this matter - giving our young women the opportunity to be in rooms where they can listen, learn, ask questions, and see women who look like them breaking barriers and creating their own paths.

Watching our Hermanitas surrounded by so many incredible Latina women was truly inspiring. We want them to know that there is a place for them at the table and one day, they’ll be the ones making room for the next generation. ❤️

The Highest Compliment 💜

One of the greatest compliments I’ve ever received as the founder of Soy Latina came from one of our seniors who is heading off to college this year.

She said, “I’m having Soy Latina withdrawals.” 🥹💜

And honestly… that one sentence means everything to me.

It tells me that Soy Latina became more than a program. It became a place of belonging, sisterhood, encouragement, and connection. A place where she felt seen, supported, and valued.

As our Hermanitas graduate and begin their next chapter, my hope is that they carry a little piece of Soy Latina with them wherever they go.

Because when a young woman leaves your program and says she misses it before she’s even really gone… you know something special happened. 🦋

This is why we do what we do.

Rooted in culture, rising in power. 💜

As one of our Hermanitas prepares to leave San Antonio and begin her college journey, she and her Hermana managed to squeeze in some quality time together. 💜

These two have built a beautiful friendship through Soy Latina, and while they may soon be miles apart, I know this isn’t goodbye and it certainly isn’t the end of their friendship. 👭🏻

It’s simply the beginning of a new chapter. ✨

One of the most beautiful things about Soy Latina is watching these connections grow beyond our programs and into lifelong friendships, support systems, and sisterhood. 🦋

To our Hermanita heading off to college: go chase those sueños grandes! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish. 🙌🏽

Different cities. New adventures. Same sisterhood.

Stay blessed and be great! 💜

You will be missed, but we will be cheering you on every step of the way!

Our Soy Latina Hermanitas had the most amazing time at the live taping of the final episode of SALUD! 💜✨

We were so excited to see so many of our supporters, Hermanas, and even our amazing Board Chair!

Our girls had the opportunity to hear the powerful personal stories of Latinas who have overcome challenges and continued to rise. Their messages of strength, perseverance, determination, and unity among Latinas were truly inspiring. 💪🏽🌺

And one moment made our hearts especially proud… one of our Hermanitas found the confidence to stand up and ask a question during the live taping! 🎤👏🏽

That is exactly why we do what we do. We want our young women to know that their voices matter, their stories matter, and they have every right to take up space in the room.

What an inspiring evening for our Hermanitas—and a beautiful reminder of the power of representation and community. 💜

What has the Soy Latina Class of 2026 been up to this summer? 💜✨

They’ve been doing what they do best - staying connected, growing together, and continuing to lead.

This summer, our graduates have:
💜 Attended Soy Latina Board Meetings
💜 Met to strategize for their first year of college
💜 Brainstormed ways to stay actively involved with Soy Latina
💜 Begun defining what their roles as alumni leaders can look like
💜 Formed our very first Youth Leadership Development Team
💜 Assisted in the selection of our new Hermanas

At Soy Latina, graduation isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning.

Our commitment doesn’t stop when our Hermanitas receive their diplomas. As they step into college and beyond, we remain committed to walking alongside them, creating leadership opportunities, fostering lifelong sisterhood, and continuing to help them grow into the powerful women they are meant to be.

Once a Soy Latina Hermanita, always family. 💜

URGENT NEED: God Mothers for Two College-Bound Hermanitas

Two of our first-generation college students unexpectedly lost critical financial assistance due to recent budget cuts. They begin college in just two weeks, and we are urgently seeking compassionate donors to become their Madrinas (God Mothers) by making a financial contribution toward their educational expenses. 🧚🏼🪄

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help these two young women stay on track to pursue their college dreams. 📈

Every gift - large or small - makes a difference. Together, we can ensure these remarkable young women have the support they deserve as they take the next step toward their futures.

Thank you for believing in our Hermanitas. 💜

🎉 Congratulations to one of our incredible Hermanitas on successfully completing the Valero Young Scientist Program!

This prestigious four-week summer program at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute provided her with hands-on experience in DNA analysis, PCR, and infectious disease research while learning alongside professional scientists.

As part of the program, she delivered an outstanding presentation on malaria, exploring its origins and the impact it continues to have on global health. We are so proud of her dedication, curiosity, and commitment to learning.

Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! Your Soy Latina family is cheering you on as you continue to grow, learn, and inspire others. 💜🧬🔬

After a year-long course of study, two of our Soy Latina Hermanitas had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Holocaust Learning Experience. As part of this program, they spent two weeks traveling through Germany and Poland, deepening their understanding of the Holocaust and its lasting impact on humanity.

During their journey, they visited several concentration and extermination camps, including Majdanek, Treblinka, Płaszów, and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Standing on the very grounds where countless innocent lives were lost, they paid tribute to the victims and reflected on one of history’s darkest chapters.

Throughout the experience, they learned the stories of individual Holocaust victims. What once seemed like unimaginable numbers became deeply personal - each victim was someone’s mother, father, child, sibling, friend, or neighbor. Their lives, dreams, and futures were stolen, reminding us that every statistic represents a human being with a unique story.

Yet amid the darkness, they also encountered powerful examples of hope and courage. They learned about the individuals who risked everything to protect others, who chose compassion over fear, and who refused to remain silent in the face of injustice. Their bravery serves as a lasting reminder that even in humanity’s darkest moments, there are people willing to stand for what is right.

We are incredibly proud of our Hermanitas for dedicating themselves to this year-long journey of learning and remembrance. By studying the Holocaust, they not only honored the memory of those who perished but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of standing against hatred, prejudice, and injustice in all its forms. We know they will carry these lessons with them as they continue to lead with compassion, courage, and a commitment to making the world a better place.
