Yesterday, at the Texas State Capitol, our Founder and CEO, Lisa Coleman, was recognized by the State of Texas and State Representative Josey Garcia for her work in the nonprofit sector and her unwavering commitment to serving her community.

This recognition is a testament to Lisa’s dedication to empowering young women, creating opportunities for the next generation, and making a lasting impact in the communities she serves.

We are incredibly proud of our Founder and grateful for the work she continues to do to create opportunities for our Hermanitas.

🦋 A MOMENT WORTH CELEBRATING 🦋

I’m incredibly honored to share that Soy Latina has been selected to receive a State Proclamation recognizing the work we are doing in our community. 💜

This recognition represents so much more than an organization. It represents our Hermanitas, our Hermanas, our families, our mentors, our supporters, and everyone who has poured their time, heart, and belief into this journey with us.

This proclamation will take place Tuesday, October 13, 2026 in Austin, Texas.

It may be short notice, but if you’re able to join us, I would be so grateful to have our Soy Latina family and supporters there to share in this moment.

We started with a vision. We built a community. And now, we get to celebrate the impact we are making together.🦋💜

Our Hermanitas are growing up! 💜

Soy Latina doesn’t end at graduation. We continue to support our girls as they enter college, the workforce, and the next phases of life.

Two of our former Hermanitas recently joined our CEO for an important community discussion focused on the importance of literacy, reading, and early diagnosis of dyslexia.

Our young adult Hermanitas are learning that being part of a community means more than simply showing up. It means being engaged, asking questions, building relationships, and becoming part of important conversations happening in our community.

And they did exactly that.

These young women not only showed up, they asked thoughtful questions that our panelists recognized as important. One of our Hermanitas was even promised a job upon graduation! 🙌🏽

This is what the Soy Latina community looks like.

We don’t simply invest in our girls until graduation and send them on their way. We continue to walk alongside them through college and into the next phase of their lives, opening doors, creating connections, and reminding them that they will always have a community behind them.

Yesterday was our annual Soy Latina Meet & Greet, and my heart is still full. 💜🦋

We brought together our 2026/2027 Hermanitas and Hermanas for connection, shared stories, laughter, and sisterhood.

There is something incredibly powerful about being in a room filled with Latinas at different stages of their journeys. Women who have paved the way and young women just beginning to discover what is possible.

Yesterday was more than a meet and greet. It was a room full of possibility, purpose, and powerful women. It was also a reminder to our Hermanitas that they never have to walk alone.

Exciting things are happening at Soy Latina as we continue to grow in impact and reach. 💜🦋

The Soy Latina girls are at it again! 💜

We had a great time at the San Antonio Museum of Art for a special screening of Miss Hokusai, an award-winning animated coming-of-age film about Katsushika Oi, a talented artist in Edo-era Japan. 🎎

We were also honored to hear from curator Mai Yamaguchi, who gave us a deeper look into the art, history, and culture behind the film. 🎞️

We were so proud to see our Soy Latina Hermanitas celebrating National Latina Day at Basila Frocks! 💜🦋

Our Hermanitas had the opportunity to listen to inspiring Latina leaders share their journeys, the obstacles they faced while pursuing their careers, and the importance of uplifting and supporting one another.

Moments like this matter - giving our young women the opportunity to be in rooms where they can listen, learn, ask questions, and see women who look like them breaking barriers and creating their own paths.

Watching our Hermanitas surrounded by so many incredible Latina women was truly inspiring. We want them to know that there is a place for them at the table and one day, they’ll be the ones making room for the next generation. ❤️

The Highest Compliment 💜

One of the greatest compliments I’ve ever received as the founder of Soy Latina came from one of our seniors who is heading off to college this year.

She said, “I’m having Soy Latina withdrawals.” 🥹💜

And honestly… that one sentence means everything to me.

It tells me that Soy Latina became more than a program. It became a place of belonging, sisterhood, encouragement, and connection. A place where she felt seen, supported, and valued.

As our Hermanitas graduate and begin their next chapter, my hope is that they carry a little piece of Soy Latina with them wherever they go.

Because when a young woman leaves your program and says she misses it before she’s even really gone… you know something special happened. 🦋

This is why we do what we do.

As one of our Hermanitas prepares to leave San Antonio and begin her college journey, she and her Hermana managed to squeeze in some quality time together. 💜

These two have built a beautiful friendship through Soy Latina, and while they may soon be miles apart, I know this isn’t goodbye and it certainly isn’t the end of their friendship. 👭🏻

It’s simply the beginning of a new chapter. ✨

One of the most beautiful things about Soy Latina is watching these connections grow beyond our programs and into lifelong friendships, support systems, and sisterhood. 🦋

To our Hermanita heading off to college: go chase those sueños grandes! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish. 🙌🏽

Our Soy Latina Hermanitas had the most amazing time at the live taping of the final episode of SALUD! 💜✨

We were so excited to see so many of our supporters, Hermanas, and even our amazing Board Chair!

Our girls had the opportunity to hear the powerful personal stories of Latinas who have overcome challenges and continued to rise. Their messages of strength, perseverance, determination, and unity among Latinas were truly inspiring. 💪🏽🌺

And one moment made our hearts especially proud… one of our Hermanitas found the confidence to stand up and ask a question during the live taping! 🎤👏🏽

That is exactly why we do what we do. We want our young women to know that their voices matter, their stories matter, and they have every right to take up space in the room.

What an inspiring evening for our Hermanitas—and a beautiful reminder of the power of representation and community. 💜

What has the Soy Latina Class of 2026 been up to this summer? 💜✨

They’ve been doing what they do best - staying connected, growing together, and continuing to lead.

This summer, our graduates have:
💜 Attended Soy Latina Board Meetings
💜 Met to strategize for their first year of college
💜 Brainstormed ways to stay actively involved with Soy Latina
💜 Begun defining what their roles as alumni leaders can look like
💜 Formed our very first Youth Leadership Development Team
💜 Assisted in the selection of our new Hermanas

At Soy Latina, graduation isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning.

Our commitment doesn’t stop when our Hermanitas receive their diplomas. As they step into college and beyond, we remain committed to walking alongside them, creating leadership opportunities, fostering lifelong sisterhood, and continuing to help them grow into the powerful women they are meant to be.
