Your Philharmonic meets lucha libre. 🎻🤼

¡Música Libre! began with a simple question: why should anyone in San Antonio feel that classical music isn't for them? So we brought the music to the ring, pairing musicians from Your Philharmonic with luchadores from Santa Chiva to bring two traditions, and more of our community, together.

Now in its third year, it returns as part of Fiesta Alegría to close out Hispanic Heritage Month. There is nothing else like it anywhere in the world! And it's free.

¡Música Libre! nació de una pregunta muy sencilla: ¿por qué alguien en San Antonio debería sentir que la música clásica no es para ellos? Así que llevamos la música al ring, reuniendo a músicos de Tú Filarmónica con luchadores de Santa Chiva para celebrar dos tradiciones y, sobre todo, reunir a nuestra comunidad.

OUR MUSICAL LIBRARY 

For more than 80 years, our orchestra’s music library has preserved the repertoire that has shaped our history.

Today, the San Antonio Philharmonic’s collection includes more than 2,200 works that have been performed throughout the orchestra’s history, from beloved classics to works by contemporary and Latin American composers.

A music library is much more than a collection of scores. Each work carries the memory of a performance, the musicians who brought it to life, and the audiences who experienced it.

These scores are part of our institutional heritage, a remarkable record of the music that has filled San Antonio’s concert halls for generations.

2,200 works. More than 80 years of music. One extraordinary legacy.

Durante más de 80 años, nuestra biblioteca musical ha conservado el repertorio que forma parte de la historia de nuestra orquesta.

Hoy, la colección de la San Antonio Philharmonic reúne más de 2,200 obras que han sido interpretadas a lo largo de nuestra historia, desde grandes clásicos hasta obras de compositores contemporáneos y latinoamericanos.

Una biblioteca musical es mucho más que una colección de partituras. Cada obra guarda la memoria de una presentación, de los músicos que le dieron vida y de los públicos que la escucharon.

"Each year, the City develops a budget that reflects the priorities of residents and City Council. Community input is essential to identify which programs and services should be prioritized. We want to hear from you. Join the City of San Antonio for an upcoming town hall meeting to give feedback on the proposed budget.
American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish interpretation available. Free parking will be available on-site."

Students, grab your parents and join us at our offices on the city’s westside this Saturday August 8th, from 9am to 12pm, for our Back to School Event at 1314 Guadalupe St. We will be giving out backpacks and school supplies, while supplies last. Take advantage of a free back to school haircut from .groovy.gals, while you are here. Enjoy some music and live entertainment. Ride your bike to school or for fun? Bring your bike and get a free basic tune-up from our friends at Trek Ride Club San Antonio.
