It is always good to see Edgewood creating more opportunities to hear directly from families and community members. 👏🏽
It also feels like an important moment to remember that Edgewood families came together last year and proposed a very specific path forward: safer schools, clearer and more accountable processes, bilingual access, and a true Parents as Partners structure where families help shape solutions, not simply attend meetings.
Some of what we are seeing today looks like movement in that direction, and that is worth recognizing.
But there is still unfinished business.
Families submitted a community resolution and asked for an ongoing collaborative process with district leadership. That conversation was never fully completed, and parents never received the opportunity to work through the proposed resolution and its recommendations together.
So yes, We will be there. ❤️
And I hope this becomes more than another opportunity to listen. I hope it becomes an opportunity to pick the conversation back up, document what has changed, identify what remains unresolved, and finally bring families and district leadership together around concrete action.
For anyone who wasn’t part of that work, the original Voices of Edgewood effort and parent recommendations are still available here:

Listening is important.
Following through is where trust is built.
