It was a wonderful collaboration with someone I knew nothing about. It was truly an improvised dance.

This is a small film project I shot and directed in August of 2025, in which the camera 🎥 and the subject (woman) are dancers in a last minute improvised choreography. I enjoyed the experience and it felt truly like an artistic collaboration of sorts, with a person I knew nothing about.

Premiere of our newest film project, starting tomorrow.

At SEEtoACT, we’ve just finished our newest film project, Where The Ghost Tracks Lead, a beautiful little 5 minute story about a disheartened young man finding new hope from the most unlikely person in his life, a script written and a film shot and edited by our justice impacted youth.

Our shooting locations were at San Antonio’s peaceful and picturesque Confluence Park and the train tracks. It’s taken 9 weeks to get our young people primed for the actual filming stage, exposing them to actual hands-on experience with professional digital film cameras, as well as practicing actual skills like camera concepts, script writing, storyboarding, composition as a visual language, and editing. Most importantly the entire curriculum is infused with a restorative approach which further espouses the value of SEL (social emotional learning), specifically to encourage emotional and needs literacy, non-violent communication, collaboration, and trust.

At SEE to ACT, we offer local communities a restorative art education program for our justice impacted youth, prividing them an alternative form of creative expression instead of anger and boredom. Our Teach to Empower program is a ‘high-contact’ opportunity for our youth population to learn visual storytelling through the art and craft of filmmaking. Join us!

Congratulations to the producers of All of the Empty Rooms. Mom of 9-year-old Jackie, who was killed in Uvalde during a school shooting, spoke at the Oscars after “All the Empty Rooms” won for best short doc.
Well deserved!!!👏👏👏
I am so happy to see this film was recognized. The tragedy that unfolded in , Texas, where a teenager went on a shooting violent 😡rampage and killed 💔scores of elementary children was what galvanized our decision to create our organization, SEE to ACT, from which a art program was born, transforming violence into creative expression🌈 through 🎥

I am so proud of my students this year. It’s our 7th session this semester, meaning that my cohort has so far accumulated 17. 5 hours of contact time with camera equipment, as well as practicing how to properly expose an image, utilizing aperture, shutter speed and iso. Learned depth of field and focal length. We’ve also just started talking about and practicing composition and camera movement as a visual language in cinema.
Last but not least, we’ve also started on our script for my students’ final short film project…
I love my kids! Smart, funny, and a lot of creative energy…
