SHRM San Antonio A professional organization for HR education, conferences and professional networking, our 600+ members represent over 200 local & national organizations.

VISION STATEMENT
The Society of Human Resource Management at San Antonio is the collective voice of human resource professionals in Central and South Texas, and the leader of choice in advancing the human resources profession in all communities served through strategies, mission critical ideas, and forums. THIS MISSION IS EXECUTED BY PROVIDING :
A forum to develop our Leaders, educate our community, advance our chapter through growth, create strategic focus and membership influence, and empower our success through collaborative business and community alliances;

The most essential and comprehensive Educational and professional development resources and services available;

A forum to Associate with business/community partners, and other professionals to exchange mission-critical ideas and strategies which affect our work and personal lives;

Happy birthday to Brandi Doyle, SPHR, SHRM-SCP!

With more than three decades in human resources, Brandi has built a career across PEO, insurance brokerage, and energy, with deep expertise in benefits, employee relations, training and development, and performance management. A Purdue graduate and dual-certified HR leader, she is known for guiding organizations through growth and change with both strategy and care.

She also invests in the next generation of HR professionals as the San Antonio SHRM Chapter Advisor for the SHRM student chapter at UTSA, mentoring emerging leaders with the same empathy and fairness she brings to complex employee relations work.

Know a college student pursuing a career in HR? The Art Edgarian/Charles Umshied Scholarship is open, and a simple share could help them take the next step.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university at the time of application and award. Each selected student receives $1,000.

A complete application includes:
• Scholarship application
• Essay
• Recommendation letter
• Unofficial transcript
• Current résumé

This year’s essay topic is “Skills Gaps, Skills-First Hiring, and Workforce Development.” Students should address this HR challenge, its impact on organizations and employees, and strategies HR can use as a strategic business partner.

Meet Dolly Buscher — SAISD HR Business Partner, bilingual educator, and SHRM San Antonio volunteer since 2019.

She created a first-of-its-kind HR seminar in Spanish for the Latin business community, led two symposiums plus an Employment Law Conference, and was recently recognized by chapter leadership for her service.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Sandy Hernandez! 🎂
Today we celebrate one of the people who has helped shape SHRM San Antonio for more than a decade.

Sandy has served our chapter as College Relations Director, Treasurer, Secretary, Symposium Chair, President-Elect, 2024 President, Immediate Past President—and now as our Treasurer again. Through every role she has brought the same steady leadership, financial stewardship, and genuine care for our members.

By day she is Director of Human Resources at Thomas J. Henry Law. By night (and weekend) she has been the volunteer who shows up, balances the books, chairs the big events, and quietly keeps the chapter moving forward. Member since 2013. Leader ever since.

Sandy, thank you for the years of service, the late-night emails, the Symposium nights, and the example you set for every volunteer who follows.

Wishing you a birthday filled with joy, rest, and people who love you as much as this chapter does.
