When a service member can't deploy or report for duty because there's no child care, that's not a personal problem, it's a gap in military readiness.

Military families have been telling us this for years.

When military families can't access reliable child care, it doesn't just affect families.

It affects readiness.

Service members who can't focus on the mission because child care fell through. Military spouses who can't return to work after a PCS because there's no provider available. Families who leave the military earlier than planned because the system never caught up to the reality of their lives.

This isn't a personal problem. It's a systemic one and it has national security implications.

OCC Project exists at the intersection of family support and policy advocacy because we know that fixing this requires both: real help for families navigating it right now, and sustained pressure on the systems that keep creating the gap.

HomeFront Helpers aren't babysitters from an app.

They're background-checked, trained community members, many of them military spouses who understand what military life actually looks like. The short-notice deployments. The solo parenting. The child care gap that shows up at the worst possible time.

Here's what a Helper can provide:

✅ Emergency and short-notice care when your regular provider falls through
✅ Ad hoc support during a PCS transition
✅ Part-time care from someone who gets your family's situation
✅ A trusted face in a new community

Our next Helper cohorts are September 19th in Florida and November 14th Colorado and training is completely free.
