This month, Reach Resilience came together around two causes at the core of our mission: supporting the well-being of veterans and honoring the service and sacrifice of first responders. It was a week defined by gratitude and reflection, reminding us why we’re so committed to the work we do.
At the Grand Ole Opry we joined USAA and Humana to reinforce our mission of dramatically reducing veteran su***de. As a founding partner of Face the Fight, we are proud to work alongside organizations like the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and UT Health San Antonio to carry out such a critical mission. Hearing stories, meeting heroes and seeing the results put the importance of this work in perspective. The evening brought that shared mission to life, with Gary Sinise, Amy Grant and Richard Casper with Creativets sharing their voices and perspectives with those gathered in support of veterans.

In Dallas, we spent time at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, visiting its 9/11 exhibit and reflecting on the courage of those who responded that day. Later, Modern Warrior's Behind the Lines: A 9/11 Story shared the firsthand experiences of a retired FDNY firefighter and U.S. military veteran, using storytelling and live music to explore service, strength and the lasting impact of 9/11.

Today, these stories remind us of the importance of continuing to support those who show up for others in times of crisis.

As families across Kerr County, Uvalde and neighboring communities continue recovering from devastating flooding, recovery remains an ongoing effort. Long after the floodwaters recede, neighbors, nonprofits and local organizations continue the work of helping communities rebuild.

With NOAA reporting 27 billion-dollar weather and climate disasters totaling $182.7 billion in losses across the United States in 2024, communities cannot afford to focus only on what happens after a disaster. Investing in resilience before a crisis can help communities better withstand these events and recover when they occur.

Reach Resilience is proud to support partners focused on both immediate crisis relief and long-term recovery in affected communities. As of this month, Reach Resilience has provided several Disaster Response Grants, including $75,000 to The Salvation Army USA, $50,000 to the American Red Cross Serving Central and South Texas and $10,000 to St. Peter's Episcopal Church and School, with more grants still in progress.

In 2025, Reach Resilience awarded Respite Care of San Antonio, Inc a $25,000 grant to support the first Crisis Nursery, part of the Safety Nest Network. As the new home celebrates its ribbon-cutting, we’re proud to highlight the impact of this partnership and the difference it is making for families in our community.

One mother recovering from a double mastectomy was able to focus on healing while her children received temporary care in a nurturing environment. After returning home, her family continued receiving coaching and support to help them thrive. By investing in prevention, we're helping create stronger families and more resilient communities, one family at a time.

Back-to-school season is exciting, but for many families, it's also a reminder of the challenges they face every day. According to the 2026 Kids In Need Foundation Teacher Insight Survey, 99% of teachers say access to school supplies improves student preparedness, while more than half report that students begin the school year without all the supplies they need.

That's why we're grateful for partners like Endeavors, whose school supply drive helps equip students with the tools they need to start the school year with confidence. In 2026, Endeavors’ School Supply Drive reached a record-breaking milestone, distributing 1,130 bags of school supplies to children across Bexar, Kerr, and Uvalde counties.

From backpack programs and school-based health centers to family resource centers and after-school programs, these services help remove barriers so students can focus on what matters most: learning.

As a founding partner of We Face The Fight alongside USAA and the Humana Foundation, we are proud to share the impact of this critical movement. Together with more than 300 mission-aligned organizations, the coalition has helped connect more than 1.4 million lives with the support, resources, and community they deserve.

Results from Face the Fight’s 2025 Impact Report illustrate how a movement can influence nationwide change: Face the Fight’s dynamic data model now projects 10,900 lives to be saved by 2032.

When a child experiences loss, access to support can change everything.

During a recent visit, our President and CEO, Sonya Medina Williams, joined Board members Gene Wolf and Henry Gallardo, and CEO of the Children’s Grief Center of El Paso Kathy Revtyak to learn more about the organization’s impact across the community.

Through our support, the Children's Grief Center of El Paso has expanded access to grief care and helped more families connect to services. Earlier this year, Braden’s Home of Hope, part of the Forever Home Initiative, officially opened its doors, creating a permanent, centrally located space designed to serve more children, engage additional trained volunteers, and provide consistent, trauma-informed care throughout the region.

Expanding access to this kind of support is essential to strengthening well-being and building resilience.

In recognition of Military Appreciation Month, Reach Resilience is proud to support Soldiers to Sidelines and their mission to connect military veterans with meaningful careers in coaching.

Through training, certification, and placement support, Soldiers to Sidelines helps veterans transition into leadership roles where they continue to serve, this time as mentors shaping the next generation. To date, the program has guided 3,613 military community members into coaching roles, providing a pathway built on community, education, and opportunity.

We were honored to come together for this event alongside the Endeavors team, our board chairman, Major General (Ret.) Alfred K. Flowers Sr., members of our board, CEO of Endeavors Chip Fulghum, and CEO of Elizabeth Dole Foundation Steve Schwab.

Reach Resilience is proud to support the Warrior Support Program, led by Endeavors in partnership with K9s For Warriors.

As our anchor partner, Endeavors brings deep expertise in case management to ensure Veterans navigating the wait for a Service Dog are not doing so alone.

Through dedicated one‑on‑one guidance, Veterans receive consistent support before, during, and after being paired with their new battle buddy—addressing critical needs early and helping stabilize moments that can otherwise feel isolating or overwhelming.

To date, 55 Warriors from 22 states have been referred to the program. Nearly 70% are already receiving case management prior to attending camp, allowing support to begin earlier in their journey and reinforcing a proactive, preventative approach to care.

Together, Reach Resilience, Endeavors, and K9s For Warriors are advancing a model of support that complements world‑class Service Dog training with comprehensive case management—helping Veterans living with the invisible wounds of war build connection, resilience, and hope as they prepare for the next chapter.
