Reach Resilience

Reach Resilience Reach Resilience serves communities in crisis by activating allies and enabling change.

Formed in 2021, Reach Resilience builds on Endeavors’ long-standing commitment to serve vulnerable populations – including veterans, military families, and people impacted by crises and natural disasters. For over 50 years, Endeavors has partnered with federal and local governments, private businesses and donors, and other nonprofit organizations to provide hope and help to communities in crisis.

As part of its continued promise to support those in need, Endeavors helped relieve the devastation caused by COVID-19, rebuild after punishing weather events across the United States and Puerto Rico, and shelter vulnerable populations, including children. These commitments have expanded Endeavors funding and staffing infrastructure, enabling the faith-based nonprofit to provide initial funding for Reach Resilience.

Congratulations to our President and CEO, Sonya Medina Williams, who was recognized as one of this year’s Women of Influence by YWCA San Antonio.

YWCA San Antonio and Reach Resilience share a strong commitment to expanding opportunities for women and families.

Reach Resilience is proud to support YWCA San Antonio’s Maternal Health program, which connects women and families facing barriers to care with prenatal, postpartum, and mental health services while building peer support and strengthening self-advocacy.

Programs like this play an important role in addressing maternal health disparities and supporting the well-being of families across San Antonio.

We’re grateful to stand alongside YWCA San Antonio and the many leaders working to expand opportunity and strengthen communities.

On February 20th, Reach Resilience joined SAMMinistries-Overcoming Homelessness, along with leaders and partners across San Antonio, for the grand re-opening of The Hudson Apartments.

After a 2024 fire displaced 23 households, this Permanent Supportive Housing community has been restored to once again provide safe housing and on-site care for individuals and families rebuilding after homelessness.

And the next chapter begins this spring.

SAMMinistries will break ground on the Hudson Wellness Center, expanding access to on-site behavioral health and supportive services designed to strengthen housing stability and long-term recovery. Reach Resilience is proud to support this work alongside President & CEO Nikisha Baker and the faithful team at SAMMinistries.

National Caregivers Day is a reminder of the essential role caregivers play in veteran recovery and long-term resilience.

Through our investment in the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, innovative tools, financial wellness pathways, and research are expanding support for military and veteran caregivers nationwide.

Guided by a commitment to compassion, dignity, and care for our neighbors, Reach Resilience has provided funding to Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc., to expand its Humanitarian Relief and Crisis Response program.

Through this Christ-centered work, Catholic Charities San Antonio will deliver critical support, including case management, housing assistance, emergency lodging, transportation, and essential supplies to families facing crisis across the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

This funding reflects our belief in supporting trusted organizations whose work brings stability, care, and hope to communities during moments of urgent need. 🧡

This Christmas season, we’re reflecting with deep gratitude on all we accomplished together in 2025.

Alongside our anchor partner Endeavors, we supported Texas flood recovery, expanded trauma-informed care, increased access to meals for families in need, and advanced su***de prevention and support for veterans.

Thank you to every partner and community member who stood with us to build stability, hope, and resilience across Texas and beyond.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a season filled with peace and joy. 🧡🎄

“As we reflect on 2025, we are reminded of the extraordinary strength that comes from uniting in faith around a shared purpose. This year brought moments of challenge and uncertainty, and through it all, we witnessed how meaningful it is to stand alongside one another to uplift people and communities in crisis.”

This Veterans Day, we pause to honor those who have served and celebrate their continued journey toward health and healing.

Through our support of Endeavors and its Wellness Demonstration Project in San Antonio, we’re helping veterans and their families access free, coordinated care that strengthens both body and mind.

As one veteran shared, “This place gave me the tools and the belief that I could keep going.”

From therapy and recovery services to peer connection and wellness support, veterans are finding strength in community and care that treats the whole person. We are proud to help make programs like this possible because every veteran deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.

“This was a wonderful tool for him to process his grief. The transformation from a scene filled with fear to one filled with protection, angels, and symbols of peace mirrored his emotional healing.” – Kisha Vallejo, LCSW, on supporting 7-year-old Joaquín* at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors

Last year, Endeavors served thousands of clients through counseling, behavioral health, and wellness programs — helping service members, veterans, and families find comfort, healing, and hope.

This Su***de Prevention Month, we honor our philanthropic partner Endeavors for the compassionate care they provide. We are proud to stand alongside them in ensuring no veteran or family has to face the fight alone.

We Face The Fight Night at the Grand Ole Opry was a powerful reminder of what this movement is all about — uniting veterans, storytellers, artists, and partners in solidarity and hope.

Reach Resilience is proud to be a founding partner of Face the Fight, alongside USAA and the Humana Foundation, standing with more than 250 coalition members working to save lives and support our nation’s veterans.

During Su***de Prevention Month and throughout the year, we can create real change for the military community. 🧡

Texas leads the nation with the highest number of people experiencing food insecurity, with 5.4 million people — including 1.7 million children — facing hunger, based on the most current data available from the Map the Meal Gap report by Feeding America. Food banks are a lifeline, and demand is rising.

We are partnering with Feeding America to help ensure families have access to the meals they need.

“Far too many Texans face hunger every day. We are honored to partner with Feeding America to bring nutritious meals and hope to families across Texas. Our $1 million grant is more than a contribution; it is a commitment to our shared vision of building stronger, healthier communities.” - Sonya Medina Williams, President and CEO of Reach Resilience

Reach Resilience is proud to invest in a new partnership with Texas Tech Health El Paso and the Opportunity Center for the Homeless.

Through our partnership, we’re supporting medical residents and full-time case managers to deliver psychiatric care and provide hands-on support to individuals experiencing homelessness who are also facing mental health challenges.

This work is about more than access to care. It’s about creating stability, restoring dignity, and helping people take the next step forward.

What began as a bold idea to prevent veteran su***de is now a nationwide movement driving measurable impact.

As a founding member of We Face The Fight, alongside USAA and Humana, Reach Resilience proudly stands with a coalition of over 250 organizations committed to preventing veteran su***de.

Through meaningful collaboration, strategic funding, and community-centered outreach, this movement is creating lasting change:

✅ 6,500 lives projected to be saved
✅ 30,000+ trained in su***de prevention
✅ 54 su***de prevention projects funded
✅ $25M+ in grants

These numbers are more than metrics — they are lives saved.

This progress proves what’s possible when communities, funders, and partners work together with urgency and purpose.

Read Face the Fight’s second annual progress report and see how our shared commitment is making a difference for veterans across the country.
