LCLAA San Antonio applauds the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed revision of the Worker Classification Rule. This change would give Independent Contractors a much-needed tool in their fight for respect and safety on the job

The new independent contractor rule to:
➡️ Protect workers’ basic rights
➡️ Make it easier for employers to properly classify their workers
➡️ Protect independent businesses that follow the law

Misclassification is a problem that spans many industries including home care, janitorial services, trucking, delivery, construction, personal services, hospitality and the restaurant industry. Proper classification of employees helps ensure that independent businesses continue to thrive while workers have flexibility, protections and benefits.
