Recently, we visited a few of our Makers who now live out in the countryside. Before COVID, they all lived together in the city, but when the pandemic changed everything, they were forced to start over.

As I sat with them recently, I realized how much we are alike. We’re mothers doing our best to care for our children, support our families, and create a better future. The biggest difference between us isn’t who we are. It’s simply where we were born.

One thing I love about my family is how passionately we love the things we love! Whether it’s our faith, family, serving others, or BYU football, we go ALL IN! We cheer loudly, celebrate big, and stay loyal through it all!

We help women living in poverty recognize their own worth, develop skills, earn an income, and believe in the possibility of a better future for themselves and their families.

We are doing so much more than feeding babies. We are helping women face the difficult realities of life in the slums of Honduras by giving them opportunities to create lasting change in their own lives.

One Common Thread truly is a family effort, and I couldn’t do what I do without the help of my kids and their spouses!

My daughter Lexi has been such a huge help creating content for One Common Thread, while Bailey helps with advertising and keeping up with our blog. My daughter Leah and daughter-in-law Caryn have been so kind to model for our recent quilted vest release.

My youngest girls, Capri and Collins, are always amazing helpers on our trips to Honduras and have even tried their hands at creating content themselves!

My son Clay and daughter-in-law Brooklyn have generously volunteered their time helping at our Utah shows and sharing One Common Thread on their own social media accounts.

And I can’t forget my son Colton and sons-in-law, Jack and Taylor! Between all of them, I can’t even begin to tell you how much fabric they’ve hauled, packed, loaded, and transported across the country to get it to me here in Texas!

It really does take a village, and I’m so grateful that my village is my family. I love that something that started as a way to help mothers in Honduras has become something my own children have embraced and helped grow. It means the world to me that they believe in this mission enough to give their time and talents to help make it happen. 💜
