The East Central FFA was established in 1951. This is a dynamic organization with more than 27 National Titles.

East Central FFA encourages premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through Agricultural Education.

Congratulations to Irene, Leah, and Camila on being selected for the Norman Borlaug Youth in Agriculture Program!

This six-month experience brings Bexar County students together with rural 4-H and FFA leaders, Texas A&M faculty, and industry professionals. From October through May, participants explore real-world challenges in agriculture, STEM, food and water security, leadership, and future careers.

By successfully completing the program and course requirements, students can earn 3 Texas A&M University college credits and a $5,000 educational grant. We’re proud of Irene, Leah, and Camila for taking on this challenge and look forward to seeing what they accomplish!

🏗️ EXPLORING THE FUTURE OF MANUFACTURING! 🖤💛

This week, our East Central High School senior Agricultural Mechanics students took a field trip to Palo Alto College for Manufacturing Day!

Students had the opportunity to explore different programs of study, tour college facilities, get hands-on with industry technology, and connect with potential future employers.

From heavy equipment simulators to conversations with industry professionals, our seniors got a firsthand look at the opportunities waiting for them after graduation.

Experiences like this help our students connect the skills they’re learning in the Ag Shop today with the careers and educational opportunities available to them tomorrow.

A big thank you to Palo Alto College and all the industry partners who took the time to share their knowledge and opportunities with our students!

The future of the skilled trades is bright, and our Hornets are preparing to be part of it! 🐝

🍟 THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR HORNETS! 🖤💛

Last night was a great evening at McDonald’s as our community came together to support the East Central Area FFA Supporters!

From families stopping by for dinner to our youngest Hornet supporters helping out, it was great to see everyone getting involved for a good cause!

A special thank you to McDonald’s for hosting our fundraiser night, to our East Central Area FFA Supporters for organizing the event, and to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a meal, or helped spread the word.

Our supporters group does so much behind the scenes to create opportunities for East Central FFA students, and events like this wouldn’t be possible without our community showing up.

Thank you for continuing to support our students and the future of agriculture! 🐝

Homecoming season is here at East Central! 🐝🖤💛

Our Advanced Floral Design students got a jump on the season by designing and creating their own homecoming mums. From ribbon work and braids to personalized details, students put their creativity and floral design skills to work on a Texas tradition.

They aren’t finished yet! Advanced Floral students will be creating additional mums for members of the Busy Bee Blooms Floral of the Month Club, while our Floral Design students will get their own opportunity to learn the basics of mum making before the October 23 Homecoming game.

A lot of creativity, planning, and craftsmanship goes into these designs, and our students are getting hands-on experience from start to finish!

This week, our Small Animal Management students got a little hands-on while learning about the digestive system!

Students participated in a digestive system lab that helped them visualize what happens to food as it moves through each step of digestion. Instead of just reading about the process, they were able to model it themselves and see how food is broken down along the way.

It may have gotten a little messy, but that’s part of the fun of learning! 🐾
