I would like to share an updated Veteran Resources Guide highlighting community organizations throughout San Antonio that provide valuable services and assistance to veterans and their families.
These resources may be particularly beneficial for veterans currently under community supervision, individuals transitioning back into the community, and those experiencing barriers to employment, housing, mental health treatment, or accessing VA benefits.
The attached flyer includes information on the following organizations:
1. American GI Forum – National Veterans Outreach Program (NVOP): Employment assistance, housing support, and reentry services, including assistance for veterans with criminal histories.
2. Bexar County Military and Veterans Services Center: VA benefits counseling, eligibility assistance, and community referrals.
3. VA Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO): Assistance connecting justice-involved veterans with healthcare, mental health services, substance use treatment, and housing resources.
4. Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach & Transition Center: Community reintegration assistance, basic needs, and supportive services.
5. Mission United: Veteran-focused case management and referrals for housing, employment, healthcare, legal assistance, and benefits.
6. NVOP Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP): Employment assistance and job readiness services for eligible veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
7. San Antonio Legal Services Association (SALSA): Legal assistance for qualifying veterans, including certain civil legal matters and criminal-record relief when eligible.
8. San Antonio Coalition for Veterans & Families: Community resources, basic needs, and potential financial assistance.
9. The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors: Mental health services and support for veterans and their families.
Program availability, eligibility requirements, and services may vary. Individuals should contact the organizations directly to confirm current services and eligibility, particularly when criminal history may affect participation.
Our goal is to continue connecting individuals under community supervision with meaningful resources that promote stability, accountability, and successful community reintegration.
Thank you for your continued dedication to supporting the individuals we serve.
Please see the flyer below and share it with individuals who may need assistance.
