Congratulations to Gavin R. on earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Troop 58 celebrated Gavin and all his hardwork and dedication to Scouting. Gavin’s dad, an ASM with the Troop talked about what Scouting means to their family and how important the relationships they have made are in Scouting. Gavin is soon off to college. Gavin, reach for the stars!

Our second of two Scuba crews just wrapped an epic Scuba trek at the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base in the Florida Keys! These Scouts earned their PADI Open Water Scuba certs, then took the lead planning and safely executing 11 dives (day and night) from 25 to 60 feet deep!

They swam with tropical fish 🐟🐠, got close-up looks at sharks 🦈, stared down moray eels, glided past large southern stingrays, and hung out with sea turtles 🐢. Real underwater leadership in action.

Last Saturday, Troop 58 gathered to celebrate Eric B. as he earned Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout!

Eric, thank you for your leadership, dedication, and service to Troop 58. We are proud of all you have accomplished and the example you have set for those who follow.

As you head off to college next month, we wish you God’s blessings and every success in this exciting new chapter.

Summer scouting adventures activated! 🐬🎣

Our Scouts had a busy weekend with a SeaWorld San Antonio Overnight followed by our Summer Sign-Off Day at Blanco State Park.

At SeaWorld, Scouts enjoyed a behind-the-scenes experience, learned about marine life and conservation, and discovered how they can make a difference in protecting our natural world.

At Blanco State Park, thanks to the support of the AAC Fishing Committee and TPWD and our amazing fishing families, Scouts completed the catch, clean, and cook requirements for the Fishing Merit Badge. At the same time, other Scouts focused on advancement, with several completing requirements toward Second Class and First Class.

Weekends like this don’t happen without servant leadership. Thank you to our adult volunteers, families, and committee members who invested their time so our Scouts could learn, grow, and experience new adventures.

High Adventure season is officially underway for Scouting America Troop 58!

Our first of two crews heading to the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base has arrived in the Florida Keys and is already enjoying everything the beautiful crystal-clear blue waters of Islamorada have to offer.

Over the coming days, these Scouts will challenge themselves, build teamwork, develop leadership skills, and create memories that will last a lifetime while exploring one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Scouts from Troops 58 and 1776 were honored to participate in the VFW Post 12205 Memorial Day Ceremony as we remembered and honored our nation’s fallen service members.

Thank you to VFW Post 12205 for allowing our Scouts to be part of such a meaningful ceremony and for helping teach the importance of remembrance, service, and patriotism to the next generation.
