Attemping to stay grounded in my art practice with this qoute by Toni Morrison:
"This isĀ preciselyĀ the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear"
One if my unwavering beliefs is that as artists, that is our duty and responsibility to share our gifts, skills, creativity, visionary capabilites, in however way that may look like for us, that we use this ability as chanellers and conveyors ofĀ spirit, medicina, messages and truth to be in service to the collective. Using that creative fire for the destruction of old worlds and the creation of new ones. ā¤ļøāš„
Created this from a request made aboutĀ wanting to see locallly specific artwork from Burque. I created this poster as a response to show our solidarity and ackowledge the interconnectedness of the struggle for liberation for land, water, humanity and all living beings across indigenous lands. From Burque, Tiwa Pueblo Lands in solidarity with P@lest!ne!
I'll be sharing more about my intentions with this piece in making prints and raising funds on another post, so keep eye out for that and for more arte coming through. āš¼
Keep sharing, speaking out, attending protests, calling your reps, creating, moving, expressing, truth telling, fighting, loving...find your lane in this struggle and keep showing up.
