Overdose Defense Project

Overdose Defense Project ODP is DIY, not-for-profit, community outreach/support, harm reduction and mutual aid. FIGHT OVERDOSE ODP is YOU. No questions. No cops.

Overdose Defense Project is a DIY, not-for-profit, community outreach/support mutual aid project. The intention of this project is to collectively organize and engage with countless communities and their members all around the world who share a common goal of reversing, preventing, and defending against opiate/opioid overdose. ODP strongly encourages volunteering and participating in any of the va

rious forms of direct action/promotion. This is essential to reducing harm and achieving the project's objectives of meeting the needs of our communities, spreading awareness, and challenging/deconstructing the stigmas about drug use and addiction. Moreover, the mutual aid model is the foundation of our project. The principles of dual power and liberation inherent to ODP drive our desire at attempting to effectively and efficiently function outside of the punitive, reductive, and reactionary confines of the carceral state. You can help by sharing our page, donating to our fundraiser, and ordering free Narcan from ODP to distribute in your own community-- whether it's for personal use and distribution or donating it to clothing/food pantries and small businesses, or wherever it can be put to use. We understand some of us can't donate financially, and others can't volunteer their time or have the mental wellbeing to distribute Narcan. Please reach out to us if you're interested in learning the many ways to participate and help this project to thrive. No donation or amount of help is too small or insignificant. This project is dependent on us collectively working together to achieve our common goals and interests. It's our struggling friends and family, those affected directly or indirectly by addiction and drug use. ODP is the folks in jail or prison, the folks on the streets, or those that have passed away from overdose. It's the dealers trapping to get by, the addicts who can't shake their habit, and the crumbling and over-policed neighborhoods crawling with crime and drugs. It's the suburbs, the privileged and unaware, and those that are addicted to their prescribed pain medication. ODP is all of us, and we're all here for each other. Contact us by texting or calling:

Hey y'all we just wanted to touch base because we've had a lot of requests come in for Narcan. We are so glad that folks are thinking about ways they can help their communities. We have quite a stash of doses ready to be shipped out to folks for absolutely free. The only issue we are currently running into is that every fundraiser we set up keeps getting disabled on various platforms for violating their terms of service (maybe because Narcan is a pharmaceutical even tho there's no RX required and it is absolutely legal for folks to carry and administer). It costs us about $4-$5 to ship to each person via USPS and due to the large number of requests we received daily we're not able to afford to pay out of pocket for those costs. So currently we're at a standstill for shipping.

If you'd like to help us with that we will happily accept donations! You can donate to cover your own cost of shipping when making a request or you can donate to the fund for others who requests narcan. You can follow this link. No amount of donation is too small. Thanks so much, y'all!

PLEASE
Consider donating any amount to cover shipping costs to provide FREE Narcan to anyone who needs it! Your help gives us the opportunity to practice harm reduction and mutual aid for the betterment of our communities, together we can challenge the conditions and systems that perpetuate overdose deaths. Recovery is possible, and overdose death doesn't have to be such a common reality for us.

Overdose Defense Project believes in a world where everyone has access to life-saving resources, regardless of their background or financial situation. Today, we are launching a fundraiser to cover shipping costs for FREE Narcan, a vital tool in combating opioid overdoses, to anyone who needs or wants it. All proceeds cover the cost of shipping.

ODP hopes to help our community overcome the devastating impact of the profit-driven healthcare system due to oppressive socio-economic and political structures enforced through the state apparatus. These systems often leave the most vulnerable members of our society without the support they desperately need. But we refuse to stand idly by and watch lives being lost when we have the power to make a difference.

Our mission is to challenge the status quo and create a world where compassion and solidarity reign supreme. By providing FREE Narcan, we aim to empower individuals and communities to take control of their own well-being, without relying on a broken system that prioritizes profit over people.

Narcan, also known as Naloxone, is a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It has the potential to save countless lives, but unfortunately, it remains out of reach for many due to financial barriers. We firmly believe that access to life-saving resources should never be determined by one's ability to pay.

We invite you to join us in this crucial endeavor. Your support, whether through donations or spreading the word, will help us cover the shipping costs and ensure that Narcan reaches those who need it most. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction and their loved ones.

By embracing mutual aid, harm reduction, and community support, we can build a world where healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and where compassion triumphs over profit. Together, we can save lives and create a more just and equitable society. Share this post, donate if you can, and let's make FREE Narcan accessible to all who need it!

Our fundraiser for ODP was disabled and what donations we received have been refunded.
We're not letting it discourage us, though. We're trying to get it back up, or possibly go another route for donations. We will be sending Narcan to anyone regardless, and cover the costs out of pocket in the meantime. We try our best to live in the solution today, and this is just a chance to learn how to strengthen our foundation. ODP is wholeheartedly grateful for everyone's engagement and help! We're not giving up!
