The ever-talented poet + activist Amanda Gorman is personified, with her work focusing on issues of oppression, feminism, race, marginalization, as well as the African diaspora ✨⠀

Not only was she the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate AND has earned a feature in TIME’s 100 Next List, but most recently + notably delivered her poem “The Hill We Climb” at the 2021 U.S. Presidential Inauguration. ⠀

Amanda will continue to shine both now and in the future, making her the epitome of Black History in the Making! ⠀

Welcome back to the ! ✨

Kyrie Irving has expressed his love for giving back to the community. With passion for basketball and importance of education has made it his purpose to set an example to aspiring youth across the world.

His organization, KAI Family Foundation, has a mission to “uplift young people from marginalized communities by providing innovative education technology and resources through cultural enrichment experiences”.
K.A.I.F.F has shown their support throughout the pandemic by providing PPE, donating to various food banks and providing meals to those in need.

Since Kyrie has been an inspiration to countless young leaders, we thought it was only right to showcase him in our Black History in The Making edition of our !
