Yesterday we didn’t just talk about emotions and leadership, we practiced them.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the purpose of the MLK Jr. Youth Summit, R.I.S.E. created space for girls and women to feel their emotions, understand what they mean, and lead with intention — leadership rooted in character, reflection, and responsibility. From honest check-ins to real conversations, the room was full of courage, transparency, and growth.

Grateful for everyone that participated in a session, and for the partners who trusted in this vision. This work is more than a session. It’s about building young ladies into leaders who are emotionally aware and grounded in who they are.

We’re honored to be part of the 2026 MLK Jr. Youth Summit 🤎

RISE will be hosting a breakout session titled:
Feel It. Understand It. Lead With It.

This session centers emotional intelligence and explores how understanding our emotions can help us become stronger, more compassionate leaders.

In honoring Dr. King’s legacy, we believe empowering youth starts with creating space for self-awareness, emotional growth, and authentic connection.

We’re excited to pour into the next generation of leaders.

Another successful R.I.S.E event!

On Saturday the girls came out and briefly discussed their values with our ice breaker, reflected and answered some questions about their future with our table talk activity, and the main event was the creation of vision boards.

Vision boards are visual representations of your goals, desires, and dreams, and works on the rules of the law of attraction whereby what you focus on is what you draw into your life. The importance of this event was to ensure the girls understood the significance of thinking big, dreaming big, planning big, and living big.
