To be honest, when I woke up this morning before clinic, I was wrestling with a real question: am I actually making a difference?
Some days we only have one or two patients show up. It's a huge time commitment, and a genuine sacrifice, one that carries a real financial opportunity cost. But I gave God my yes. I knew this is what He called me to do.
And today, He showed up.
We were greeted by an amazing group from Community Bible Church who helped canvas the neighborhood and brought more patients through our doors. But God wasn't finished. Even after they left, a patient walked in completely out of insulin. Their blood sugar was over 400. They needed help now.
I was blessed to be able to refill this patient's medication and get them the care they needed before their condition became an emergency.
If I had let those slow days convince me to give up, they would have walked into an empty room.
God reminded me today not to despise humble beginnings. The one or two patient days matter. The empty-feeling mornings matter. Because you never know when the door is going to open and someone's life depends on you being there.
