We exist, as a community of Christ-followers, to help those in vocational ministry transition to spiritual and emotional health through discipleship based rest, renewal and re-engagement. Our goal is to aid leaders in vocational Christian ministry who are spiritually and emotionally weary after a recent ministry assignment. Initially, our plan is to provide 3 months of financial assistance if needed along with recommendations for counseling and a discipleship process to help facilitate healing.

Take a breath!
As many end the school season, and turn towards the summer season, we tend to run hard from one season right into the next. Bowing to the demands of expectations, not wanting to miss out, or overcommitting by filling up the calendar.
The discipline of rest is something our culture has failed to disciple well because it is "boring" or "I don't know what to 'do'". Yet it is a gift and even a command to rest.
Receive a moment of rest.
Plan it even.
You have run hard.
Don't feel bad about taking a rest in whatever capacity rest finds you.
And let Jesus do a work in the rest.

As The R3 Project has taken small steps forward we have had the blessing of learning from some incredible organizations ahead of us and around us. Today we got to hear some great insight from a panel of leaders about Mental Health in the Church from collaborative organizations here in San Antonio. It is a desire of R3 to grow a trauma informed lens and provide appropriate spaces for pastors and ministry leaders in the middle of being pushed out or burned out.

Thank you Program for Future Church and Congregational Collective for making space for these vital conversations.

And for me () it was a gift to see and continue to learn from my friend

Breath in...Breath out...
Forgiveness is not a superficial glossing over reality. There is much work to be done in understanding a deeper forgiveness. And it may require a different future than the one you imagined. Today, simply breathe and rest in the fact that you have been forgiven far deeper than you could ever imagine. Begin trusting that the work of forgiveness can spring out something greater than a shallow forgiveness could produce.

While this season is full of Joy and Hope with the announcement of God with us, there are also those that will struggle. Struggling through past experience, hope lost, or dreams diminished. The struggle can be met with hopelessness or it can lead to lament. While acknowledging where you have been can be hard it can lead to a new season of reorientation. Lament is the starting point for reorientation and hope is birthed in places of lament...
