🌎 A powerful reminder from this week: maternal health is also about language, culture, and community.

The United Nations’ 2026 Indigenous Peoples observance honored Indigenous midwives and their role in protecting health, knowledge, identity, and community well-being.

For Shequity, this connects directly to language and health equity.

The evidence shows that professional interpreters and language-concordant care can improve patient understanding, treatment adherence, safety, and the overall healthcare experience.
