As we prepare to celebrate April as Arab American & MENA Heritage Month, we have exciting news to share! The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has officially introduced a new “Middle Eastern or North African” (MENA) category!

This groundbreaking development is a direct result of YOUR dedication and advocacy. Remarkably, 13,350 comments were contributed through the National Network for Arab American Communities' (NNAAC) action center, representing 66% of the total feedback provided to the Federal Register notice.

The inclusion of the MENA category stands to greatly benefit Arab American and MENA communities. It opens the door to enhanced civil rights protections, access to culturally competent healthcare and direct services, better educational opportunities, increased support for minority small businesses through expanded loan access, funding boosts for Arts & Culture organizations, and improved political representation and voting rights protections.

Arte y Pasion presents BELÉN MAYA in MINHA: An Offering for Peace

Conversation and hot tea with friends ❤️ ☕️

Info at: mehr.eventbrite.com

Join us for an evening of conversation and hot tea as we dive into the 2024 Dreamweek theme of “Compassion.”

A short presentation will be given by Mehr Foundation about the word and acts of compassion in Iranian families and communities. We invite our attendees to come prepared to just listen or engage in the conversation with their own thoughts and ideas for an informal get-together.

We will also invite attendees to write the word compassion in their respective language along with a short description of what the word compassion means to them. Mehr Foundation will collect the writings for a college which will be presented on our social media pages.

Each attendee will receive a complimentary cup of hot tea or hot coffee, all other items are for sale at Baklovah Bakery. No outside food or drinks allowed.

The event is open to the public and seating is on a first-come basis. While we invite attendees of all ages, we suggest an adult audience as this will be an adult conversation setting and we want to be courteous to those speaking in a public setting and limit noise and interruptions.
