The City of San Antonio Office of Emergency Management is pleased to invite you and members of your community to attend our 15th Annual Community Preparedness Workshop on Saturday, September 19th, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (check-in begins at 7:30 am).



Held each September in recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Community Preparedness Workshop helps residents prepare for emergencies and disasters while strengthening community resilience. This year's theme, "Preparing Together for a Stronger Tomorrow", will reflect on the past 15 years of community preparedness, examine current hazards and preparedness efforts, and explore the future of disasters and emergency management in San Antonio.



Registration is required, and seating is limited. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and CART captioning services will be provided. Live Spanish interpretation will also be available upon request. Please register online using the following link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/kqm8Q1P1ux

Spurs Sports & Entertainment to Host Community Conversations on Downtown Arena District

Ten community conversations will invite residents to share ideas on the downtown arena district and future home of the Spurs

Multiple dates and locations (see link). The two closest to the Neighborhood are:

Wed., July 22 – Our Lady of the Lake University 411 S.W. 24th Street – Library

Universal Paper Shredding
Bring your sensitive documents to have them shredded safely.
Four small boxes or two large boxes per household.

Solid Waste Management/Dial-A-Trailer
Materials Accepted: Appliances, clean brush, furniture, shrub & tree limbs, lumber, mattresses, metals, vehicle tires (limit 4 per household), and water heaters, please separate brush from bulky items before arrival.
Materials NOT Accepted: Commercial waste, railroad tires, soil & sod, bricks, construction or remodeling materials, hazardous waste.

Los Jardines Neighborhood Association founding member, secretary, and former treasurer has passed away. Los Jardines meant a great deal to Virginia and she definitely gave much back to the Association and her community. Rest in Peace and God Bless. Our condolences to the family.
