13 years later, what Olive remembers most might surprise you. 💚 When Olive was just 5 years old and being treated for lymphoma, she made a Little Wish for a pair of sparkly silver shoes. They were WAY too big, but she loved them so much that she wore them to every chemotherapy admission, wobbling down the hospital halls while pushing her IV pole. Today, Olive is 18, healthy, a high school senior, and applying to college. When she took the stage at our It’s the Little Things Gala, she was wearing silver shoes again. This time, they fit. 🥹 “I don’t remember every medicine I took or a lot of the details of my treatment. But I remember the pure joy and exhilaration that those shoes gave me. The most magical part of them was that they made me feel alive again.” Olive also remembered the hospital staff singing as they delivered her Little Wishes to her bedside, giving her something to look forward to during treatment. As Olive put it, “Looking back, I think that was its own kind of medicine.” 💚

BRUH… I’M 13
Turning 13 is a pretty big deal, especially when you’re going through cancer treatment. Mason spent his birthday in the hospital, but we weren’t about to let cancer steal his celebration! 💚
With a Little Wish for a new pair of Timberland boots, some of his favorite things, and of birthday cake, we made sure Mason entered his teenage years in style.🥾

Her parents never imagined she would spend her birthday receiving cancer treatment.
Just weeks after being diagnosed with leukemia, Imona was back at the hospital on her special day.

Her last cancer treatment had a dress code… PJs! 🎀 After a long road, Carissa rang the bell surrounded by the people who helped her get there, including Dr. Doug in pajamas and a curler. 😂🔔 The best kind of send-off: PJs, hugs and NO MORE TREATMENT! 💚

This little wiggle has a big story behind it. 💚 Ariah is recovering from a bone marrow transplant after spending so much of her young life around hospitals, treatments and restrictions. Her Little Wish brought new things to play with and explore while she heals, and something happy to focus on during a really hard chapter. “Seeing Ariah laugh, play and make happy memories after everything she’s been through means the world to us,” her mom shared. 💚

When time becomes precious, so does every little wish. 🙏🏼When a child is nearing the end of life, sometimes their final wish is to spend one last day at the beach, sleep under the stars, or leave something meaningful behind for the people who love them most. When time is short, our hospital teams find ways to create these moments right at the bedside. Making a child’s final moments as meaningful, peaceful and filled with love as possible is an incredibly important part of our mission.💚

What if you could turn the chaos of cancer into something you could hold? That was 15-year-old Randy’s wish. He wished for yarn to create his “chaos blanket,” choosing each color to represent a memory or difficult moment from his cancer treatment. Now he and his mom are piecing it together, one square at a time. 💚 Stay tuned for the finished blanket.
