Join us as We Honor the Courage, Sacrifice, and Service of the Women who have proudly worn our Nation's Uniform.

Women Veterans Day is celebrated each year on June 12, commemorating the Anniversary of the Signing of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which gave Women the Right to Serve as permanent members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Today, we say Thank You to All Women Veterans—Past, Present, and Future—for Their Dedication and Service to Our Country.

❤️🤍💙 Please take a moment on Friday, June 12, to Recognize and Thank a Woman Veteran.

📖 Story Time with Our Historian, Carolyn Mioduski:

Khloe Noelke (pictured below) had just learned from me, Carolyn, a few days earlier that her Great-Grandmother was a WWII Veteran. She and her mother drove from Sheffield to volunteer after her mom called and asked if they could help.

When they called, I mentioned that we had a Noelke buried at Fairmount Cemetary and asked if they might be related. They weren't sure, so I later sent them information about Freida Noelke. Her mom texted back that the details matched what she knew about her husband's family.

Sure enough, Freida was Khloe's Great-Grandmother! They were thrilled, and I made sure their volunteer assignment included Freida's Grave, where they proudly placed a flag and a rose in her honor. 🌹🫡🇺🇸

Our Women Veterans Day Rose Placement Ceremony was a beautiful success because all of our incredible Volunteers!

With teams working across all four cemeteries, every one of our 88 Women Veterans was honored with a rose. A special thank you to Lee at Belvedere, Laura at Calvary, Kristie at Lawnhaven, and Carolyn, at Fairmount for coordinating the efforts.

I am deeply grateful to every Volunteer who gave their time to make sure no one was forgotten. As a small token of our appreciation, each volunteer received a beautiful Rose Pin.

Now we need your help one more time! Please join us Saturday at 8:00 a.m. as we return to retrieve the roses.

Thank you all for helping us honor the strength, courage, and service of all the Women Veterans who came before us. 🌹🇺🇸

MVPN of the Concho Valley honored our Veterans on May 21st with their Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon.

Veterans enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, cupcakes, and drinks while spending time together in fellowship and appreciation for their service. It was wonderful seeing so many veterans gathered together, including some of our ladies in attendance.

Thank you, MVPN, for continuing this special tradition and for supporting our local veterans community!
