🌟 Welcome Kaleigh! 🌟
We’re excited to introduce Kaleigh Falcon, one of our newest EDGNs from San Angelo and an Angelo State grad! She chose the ER for its collaborative culture and endless learning opportunities. Kaleigh hopes to earn her CEN, become a SANE nurse, and precept future nurses. She also has an English bulldog named Tug and two tattoos inspired by her favorite album, Folie à Deux! 💙

🔥 Meet Kenzie! 🔥
We’re excited to welcome Kenzie Brockman, one Shannon's newest EDGNs! Kenzie chose the ED because she loves making an impact on people from all backgrounds. Her five‑year plan includes completing her critical care residency, gaining ED experience, and becoming an NP.

Fun fact: Kenzie loves concerts, gives herself tattoos and piercings, and enjoys hiking trips!

We’re excited to welcome Jayme Gonzalez, one of our newest EDGNs from San Angelo and a proud Angelo State University graduate! Jayme is passionate about learning from the diverse patients she’ll care for and is committed to growing her skills every day.

Fun fact: Her first-ever concert was Beyoncé this past summer — and she brings that same energy and excitement into the ED!

Texas Senate Bill 1164 goes into effect Sept. 1, 2025.
This update modernizes emergency detention laws for individuals experiencing mental health crises — including minors.

Key changes include:
• Expanded criteria for detention (emotional distress, deterioration, impaired insight)
• Standardized documentation requirements
• EMS may file officer paperwork when transporting

These updates will impact ED workflows and strengthen coordination between healthcare teams, law enforcement, and EMS.
