This past week has been busy. On Saturday the 25, 6 Scouts came out and helped us pour concrete to level out our awnings, Sunday, we began pouring the footing for the benches, and throughout this week, we finished pouring the footings. On Friday, Tex Speck from Symco helped us place the benches, and on Saturday, Tex, along with 4 others helped us place the structures on the trail.

On Monday, we finished laying w**d mat and put in posts for a fence around the perimeter of the seating area.

This past few weeks, we have puchased decomposed granite from MAG Materials in Voca, laid out and drilled holes for the structures and benches, trenches and laid piping for water and electrical, purchased trees and w**d mat from Scherz Landscape, and prepared to lay w**d mat. We hope to be able to lay the w**d mat next weekend, and our structures manufactured by Hirschfeld will be coming in March 2nd. Symco will be providing a sky track so that we can hoist the benches and structures into the berm.

Day 23-
It’s the big one! We got so much done today. Thank you so much to all who helped make today possible

We built up the seating area land with landscape blocks and select fill, feathered out topsoil around the parameter of the job site, and added pea gravel on the water drainage.

Thank you to East Angelo Lions, Leadership San Angelo, Boy Scouts, San Angelo Standard Times, KLST/KSAN, San Angelo LIVE!, My Uncle Al and Jason, and all others who attended!

Days 16-19
On Saturday, we laid 50 more feet of landscape block. I was gone at camp, so my mom stepped up and helped out my dad. Thanks Mom and Dad! On Sunday, we began sorting landscape blocks so that they add random color to the retaining wall. On Monday, we trenched out an area to lay water and electrical conduit, sorted more block, and shaved off the back of the landscape blocks that were donated by Brady and Lemire Gilbert so that our other landscape blocks will fit. And on Tuesday, I sorted even more block.
