Hey friends and family! I have collaborated on a book with a friend of mine. It is a fun children’s book about Angora goats. It is based upon my farm and is suitable for ages 5-10 yrs old. Perfect for grandchildren or in your teacher library. If you are local, I have a limited number copies on hand that I can deliver to you (private message me to order). Angora goats in a Kimble county pen, 1939. They are waiting to be shorn. That's 100% pure Texas mohair right there, folks. I love the textures here: the straw on the ground, the cedar post fence, the texture of the mohair itself --- all of it. I'm just glad I don't have to do the actual shearing, which I understand is pretty dang hard work. The goats are typically sheared twice a year to yield smooth, long locks of fleece. Known as the "diamond fiber," mohair is a strong, lustrous, durable, and flame-resistant textile. Even to this day, Texas produces more than 90% of U.S. mohair, though use of mohair has been in steady decline, what with synthetic fabrics and whatnot.
