📢 USDA Foods Make-Up Distribution Tomorrow – 8/13/26

After last week's cancellation due to the Gann Fire, our USDA Foods distribution will take place tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who make these distributions possible each month! ❤️

Please note that the Angels Camp and Mountain Ranch sites will not be operating for this make-up distribution.
Participants from those communities may pick up their USDA Foods boxes at:

Poole Station Rd is open ….

🚧 GANN FIRE ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE 🚧

UPDATE: Pool Station Road is now OPEN to traffic.

The following hard closures remain in effect:
• Riata Way at Pool Station Road
• Gann Road at Hogan Dam Road
• Hunt Road at Hogan Dam Road

Please continue to avoid the area if possible. Fire personnel and emergency crews are actively working in and around the incident, with emergency vehicles frequently entering and exiting the area.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as firefighters continue their efforts. Please slow down, stay alert, and give all emergency responders plenty of space to work safely.

❤️ We're Open Again, Thanks to an Incredible Community❤

Today we were finally able to regain access to our facility and resume operations.

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has helped our community navigate this ongoing emergency. To our partner pantries, thank you for stepping up and continuing to serve your neighbors when families needed support the most. We know many of you have experienced increased demand, and your compassion, flexibility, and commitment have helped ensure that food remains available throughout our county.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, public works crews, the Calaveras Health and Human Services Agency, and all first responders who have worked tirelessly to protect our communities and support residents during this emergency. Your dedication, sacrifice, long hours, and commitment to serving others do not go unnoticed. Your commitment to protecting our communities and supporting residents during this difficult time means more than words can express.

While we are grateful to be back in our building and serving our community, The Resource Connection Food Bank remains located within an Evacuation Warning Zone. We are open and operating at this time, but conditions remain fluid. We encourage everyone to stay aware of changing conditions, monitor official updates, and be prepared should evacuation recommendations change. Your safety remains the top priority.

🎉 Food Bank Reopening Tomorrow, August 6 🎉
Good news! Our evacuation status has been downgraded from a Mandatory Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Warning, and The Resource Connection Food Bank will reopen tomorrow at 9:00 AM and resume regular services.

Please note that the hard closure at Poole Station Road and Highway 4 remains in place. However, Poole Station Road is now accessible from Highway 49, with the remaining closure moved east to Cement Plant Road. Residents traveling from Copperopolis should take Highway 4 to Highway 49 to reach the food bank.

⚠️ The food bank remains within an Evacuation Warning area. Please stay alert, monitor official updates, and be prepared should conditions change.

🚨 Community Food Resources Available During Evacuation 🚨
While The Resource Connection Food Bank remains under mandatory evacuation, we want our community to know that food assistance is still available through many of our partner pantries throughout Calaveras County.

In addition, Calaveras Health & Human Services Agency is providing emergency food bags while supplies last at:

Please refer to the food pantry network flyer below for pantry locations, contact information, and distribution schedules.
📞 We strongly encourage everyone to call ahead before visiting a pantry to confirm the site is open and operating. Conditions can change quickly during an emergency.
⚠️ For your safety and the safety of emergency responders, please follow all evacuation orders, road closures, and other official safety protocols in effect for your area.

🔥Food Bank Closure Update 🔥USDA Foods – Cancellation 🔥

Due to ongoing fire activity, evacuations, road closures, and rapidly changing conditions throughout Calaveras County, The Resource Connection Food Bank will remain closed on Wednesday, August 5.

We are also postponing our USDA Foods Distribution scheduled for Thursday, August 6, until further notice. This includes all USDA distribution sites throughout the county.

Calaveras County Public Works has announced the closure of Pool Station Road between Highway 49 and Highway 4, including access from Church Hill Road and Russell Road, and additional road closures or restrictions may occur as conditions change.

We know many families depend on these services, and we don't make these decisions lightly. The safety of our clients, volunteers, staff, and community must come first.

We will continue to monitor conditions and share updates as soon as it is safe to resume operations and schedule a new USDA distribution date.
