🌈Grey-C, lovingly nicknamed “Thumper” for her fluffy gray coat and white paws, passed away at approximately 14 years of age. She had been a cherished resident of the 10 Lives Sanctuary since the property was first purchased and prepared for its feline residents in 2017.

Grey-C initially lived in the sanctuary’s outdoor area, but her gentle nature often made her the target of more dominant cats. It quickly became clear that indoor life suited her far better, and she soon settled into the comfort and safety of the sanctuary home. Though somewhat of a loner, Grey-C formed quiet but meaningful bonds with the humans who cared for her. Affection was always on her terms, but when she chose to share it, she especially loved curling up on a warm lap or resting against a familiar chest during nap time.

Last July, Grey-C began experiencing a diminished appetite and recurring bouts of diarrhea. Veterinary evaluation revealed the early stages of kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and a solitary pulmonary nodule. She was started on several long-term medications, and thankfully, her appetite and comfort returned, allowing her to continue enjoying life in the home she knew and trusted.

Sadly, last week her appetite declined once again. This time, despite every effort, there was no recovery, and the difficult but compassionate decision was made to let her go peacefully.

Grey-C had a quiet and deeply unique personality. She was never a troublemaker — always gentle, compliant, and content so long as she had a peaceful place to rest and a good meal to enjoy. Her presence was subtle, but the absence she leaves behind is deeply felt. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and caring for her.

Tonka's Story

Meet Tonka – a calm, affectionate gentleman who loves hugs and cuddles. This handsome boy is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can relax and be someone’s devoted companion.

Tonka was rescued as a kitten in 2023 after being born to a community cat and was adopted at just 12 weeks old. Recently, he was returned to our sanctuary because he had difficulty adjusting to three dogs in the household—two of which were introduced after his adoption.

Back at the sanctuary, Tonka has reminded us what a special cat he is. He is incredibly sweet, gentle, and people-oriented. He enjoys affection and will happily ask for cuddles, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a relaxed and loving feline friend.

Tonka would do best in a calm, indoor-only home, preferably without dogs, where he can feel comfortable and secure.

Meet Sunny — a truly special soul looking for his forever indoor home

Sunny was originally adopted as an indoor-only cat, but at some point his owners began letting him outside. Over time, he chose to stay outdoors and even started eating at a neighbor’s home. Unfortunately, the area he lived in is full of predators and extremely dangerous for a cat. His owners, realizing the risk, made the loving and responsible decision to surrender him to us so he could find a safe, indoor-only home.

With us, Sunny has displayed an abundance of contentment and companionship, recently moving from the outdoor sanctuary to indoors as an office cat. Since coming inside, he has shown just how much he enjoys human company. He is extremely affectionate and loves attention.

That said, Sunny can get a little overstimulated sometimes and may give a small nip when he’s had enough — he’s just a cat who needs someone who understands cat body language and boundaries. We truly believe that with enrichment, playtime, and a calm environment, he will continue to settle in beautifully.

We think Sunny would do best in:
🏡 A cat-savvy home
🐈 Either as an only cat, or with very laid-back, easygoing cats
💛 An indoor-only home where he can be safe and adored

He’s one of those cats who bonds deeply, loves hard, and just needs the right person to understand him. Sunny is a healthy adult (little over 5 years old,) has the eyes of an old soul, and a heart full of love.

🌟 Meet Tabby — The Original King of 10 Lives Sanctuary 🌟
Senior • Orange Tabby • Born 2015

Tabby isn’t just another orange tabby — he’s part of the origin story of 10 Lives Sanctuary. In 2015, he was born into a litter of 5 to a community cat… and he wasn’t alone. Two more litters were born around the same time — 15 kittens total — and that event inspired the creation of the sanctuary we have today. 💛

Today, Tabby is a healthy senior who loves his groceries and keeps a great weight — a sign of a life well lived. He shares our enclosed 15,000 sq. ft. outdoor haven with 25 other cats, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air every day. He’s independent, has no particular best friends, and every so often takes part in a “king of the mountain” scuffle with a fellow tough cat. 🐾👑

But as Tabby grows older, we see a gentle shift… While he still loves the outdoors, he may soon prefer the comforts of indoor life — especially with the right humans. We believe he may truly thrive in a calm, quiet home — perhaps one with senior citizens who appreciate a peaceful companion with a little personality. 🧡
