Humboldt County Growers Alliance The Humboldt County Growers Alliance is a membership-based, not-for-profit trade association for cannabis businesses in Humboldt County.

Our members include farmers, manufacturers, distributors, retail, nurseries, and labs. We are supported, in part, by business owners who value Humboldt County’s cannabis industry members. HCGA’s members work together through advocacy, education and other initiatives to encourage, protect and enhance Humboldt County’s world-renowned cannabis industry, and to share messages about environmental leade

Join us Sunday to gather together in appreciation for each other, the close to another harvest season, and the work of Natalynne DeLapp, Executive Director for HCGA 2020-2025. Humboldt County Supervisors have already reduced the special tax on local c@nn@bis farmers.
Now—thanks to the tireless advocacy of our community—the BOS have an opportunity to fully repeal Measure S this Tuesday.

This is the final step toward tax fairness for family farms and a stronger, more sustainable local industry.

If you care about Humboldt’s cannabis future and want to contribute time, insight, and energy to our collective success, we invite you to apply. The commitment is about 10 hours/month, with increased involvement through the fall.

You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of staff and board members to:
➡️ Support leadership transitions
➡️ Help stabilize funding for staff
➡️ Strengthen board involvement in fundraising, membership, and programs
➡️ Represent the cannabis community with professionalism and purpose

AB 564 passed out of the Assembly Revenue & Taxation Committee on Monday and is heading to Appropriations!

Thank you Assemblymember Matt Haney (D–San Francisco) for standing up for California’s small cannabis businesses. 💪

“AB 564 will provide tax relief to California’s struggling cannabis industry by freezing an unprecedented 25% excise tax increase. This is a tax increase that applies only to this one industry. Let me be clear: this bill does not reduce the current tax rate. It simply freezes it. It will not reduce existing revenue generated by the tax. California has always been at the heart of America’s cannabis economy and culture. But since the passage of Proposition 64, we have not realized the full potential of a legal, regulated cannabis market. Legal cannabis businesses, which pay both state and local taxes and fees, are constantly under threat from the illicit market. Fully licensed cannabis businesses now capture only 40% of California’s total cannabis market, while the illegal market controls 60%. This industry needs our help. These small businesses employ thousands of Californians. We made a promise to voters to legalize cannabis and make it accessible—and we must support the legal businesses that are trying to do it the right way.” – Assemblymember Matt Haney
