We wish to share Kirk's story with the interest in saving a life of a teen and make a healthy difference in our communities through education. Our foundation stems from Kirk's caring interest in young people's lives. For all who sought him out, understood Kirk's compassion and loyalty to his family, friends, as well as preserving the beauty of our outdoors that he enjoyed so much. Kirk's belief an
d value system rested on healthy life principals and kindness to all. Sadly, Kirk lost his life due to the misfortune of mental illness that tragically ended in his suicide. As many, Kirk was suffering from anxiety and hallucinations caused by the consumption of marijuana that ultimately triggered a psychotic mental break. Following his medical evaluation, Kirk was diagnosed with the early onset of schizophrenia at the age of 18 1/2. Learning of this diagnosis, Kirk sought medical help to only be denied multiple times, then struggled even more due to the medical professionals disbelief that he needed care and expressed that he never wanted to be a burden on his family. Kirk's tragedy and our loss has passionately evolved to supporting teens with similar challenges, to educate, pass legislation and offer financial assistance so the healing process may begin from this infliction. We must band together to educate our communities of Teen mental illness and support those organizations working tirelessly to help our future Teens into a productive and gratifying adulthood. To this cause, please join us in working diligently to pass future legislation and Laws to improve our WA State ranking, 39th in the United States. Our objective is to achieve better Mental Health hospitalization as well as compassion for this much needed illness.
