This cavity would not be a good choice for a Cavity Nesting Hen to choose for her brood site. Cute guys but they love CN duck eggs.

Nest boxes are prepped and weather is warming with insect and pond greens present. Perfect for nesting pairs to bring a brood into the wetland.

This wetland is approximately 10 years under Nesting Box management. The nest boxes are 75% successful and surviving curious bears and bobcat and the campfire needs of homeless camping...yes!! Couldn't believe it.

Great effort by the Issaquah Boy Scout's. BSA #200 cleaned and replaced bedding of all Cavity Nesting boxes on the property and even added an additional box to boot! Quite a suprise as they approached one box to find it occupied by a owl!
Not easy access for the Scouts but determined chracter and sense of pride made short work of the yearly task. Oh and picked up 5 garbage bags of trash. Well done guys!!

BSA Troop 200 out for the day recharging the boxes of Canyon Creek Wetland. They have really taken on this wetland as their own, maintaining the 8 boxes in place over the eight years they have been in place. Bobcats and Bear have been a destructive challenge but the Scouts have answered that with the installation of new boxes. Photographer and Scout Master Ted Mularoni captures Scouts cleaning a box while Scout Master Brian Plaskon [orange shirt] steadies the ladder. Scouts Mark Mularoni, Eli Galit, Victor Marcenac and Nate Galit assist, All boxes are now ready for the nesting season of 2020 which happens approximatly in March/April.

The Canyon Creek Wetland Nest Box project has suffered with some vandalism recently and needed some repairs and refurbishment. The Boy Scouts of America, Troop 200 to the rescue. Thanks guys...Job well done.
