The Pacific Institute recently launched a new webpage, at http://bit.ly/2zHf5QV, showing the previous day’s Salton Sea elevation, total area, and volume.
For purposes of comparison, the webpage also reports the Sea’s elevation on the same day in 2003, the change in elevation and the amount of playa exposed since that day in 2003, and the estimated acreage of dust control and habitat projects constructed at the Salton Sea to date.
As the Salton Sea approaches a period of very rapid changes, we hope that this new webpage offers a useful reference.
