Congratulations to UWOP member Sidni Lloyd-Shorter for a successful BCEO Summer Program. The Utah Black Chamber of Commerce and PROG Development Center hosted the 2026 BCEO Youth Summer Camp, a four-week entrepreneurship experience designed to help high school students build real business skills, develop innovative ideas, and gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. Congratulations to the nine talented and amazing students who shared their experiences by presenting their business pitch to family, friends, and community judges. Ferguson to conduct a session on The Power of Networking & Professional Development for medical students affiliated with Black Physicians of Utah. Topics discussed included building connections and skills that help drive career breakthroughs. Opportunities to support and hold space for community in critical in sustaining connections.

The UWOP President Emma E Houston was invited to engage in conversation on topics involving authenticity and personal values, diversity, inclusion and organizational culture, community and social impact, mentorship and career development, personal growth and challenges, and imposter syndrome with Goldman Sachs employees. It was engaging, thoughtful, and intentional as participants discussed how we show up, contribute and support our communities, and ways we hold space. The connection was coordinated by UWOP member, Sidni Lloyd-Shorter in collaboration with the organizing efforts of team lead, Kristalynn Appiah.
