Founded by Dan Reynolds, LOVELOUD aims to ignite conversation about what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept, and support our LGBTQ+ communities. LOVELOUD was founded in 2017 by Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of Imagine Dragons to help ignite the relevant and vital conversation of what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept, and support LGBTQ+ youth in an effort to keep families together. Talking, sharing and showing the realities of what teens in our society face daily is where it all begins.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

For the LGBTQ+ community, su***de prevention is inseparable from creating a world where every person knows they are loved, accepted, supported, and worthy of being here.

The numbers remind us why this work matters.

39% of LGBTQ+ young people surveyed by The Trevor Project seriously considered attempting su***de in the past year. That number rises to 46% among transgender and nonbinary young people. More than 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ young people surveyed reported attempting su***de.*

But there is another statistic we want everyone to know:

LGBTQ+ young people living in very accepting communities reported attempting su***de at less than half the rate of those living in very unaccepting communities.*

Acceptance matters.�Community matters.�Showing up matters.�Love matters.

LGBTQ+ people are not inherently more likely to experience su***de risk because of who they are. Discrimination, rejection, bullying, stigma, and barriers to care can place LGBTQ+ people at greater risk.** And that means all of us have a role to play in changing the conditions around them.

At LOVELOUD, we believe love should be something people can feel in their homes, schools, communities, friendships, and families.

So today, check in on someone. Say the thing you assume they already know. Tell them you love them. Tell them you accept them. Remind them that they belong here.

There couldn’t have been a more meaningful way to close out Pride Month. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

Last week reminded us what Pride is really about. Coming together, showing up for one another, and putting love back into our communities in tangible ways. ❤️🏡

It was especially powerful to gather on Friday in South Salt Lake with Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area and ReStore to honor the 11th anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges and celebrate the beauty of marriage equality. 💍🌈 A moment that changed so many lives and continues to remind us why this work matters. To mark that milestone by giving back, revitalizing community spaces, and standing together in service made the day even more special. 🛠️🌱

We’re deeply grateful to have partnered with so many incredible local organizations this Pride season doing life-changing work right here in the heart of LOVELOUD. A massive shoutout to all of the community members and partners who helped make this possible—Constructive Alchemy, Utah Pride Center, Pastor Curtis, Equality Utah, and UAF Legacy Health. 💖🤝

It was also such an honor to join Good Things Utah 📺 to talk about this partnership, the importance of Pride Build, and what’s ahead for LOVELOUD as we look toward our 10-year anniversary in 2027. 🎉🔟

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a ban on conversion therapy for minors, ruling that restrictions on certain counseling practices violate free speech protections.

We want to be clear: conversion therapy is widely discredited and has been shown to cause real harm to LGBTQ+ youth—increasing the risk of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and thoughts of self-harm and su***de.

In this moment, we stand firmly with the LGBTQ+ community. All LGBTQ+ young people deserve to be supported, affirmed, and safe.

To the LGBTQ+ community: you are perfect just as you are. We love you, and we are here for you.

To learn more about the harmful effects of conversion therapy, we encourage you to explore research from trusted sources like the American Psychological Association and listen to the stories of those who have experienced the horrific practice of conversion therapy for themselves.
